I have read several of the ripoff reports on Epenzio. The wife and I were eloquently roped into purchasing a "package" like most of you guys were. Certainly, none of our arms were twisted to purchase anything. Most of us went to the seminar because of an ad in newspaper or a radio spot. There were promises of riches with their "package deal".
The problem here is that the product demonstrated and the features and benefits were not as advertised. The software to setup up the website was "ABSOLUTELY PITIFUL" as compared to even some of the "dirt cheap" programs available on the street. Guess what, when we paid for our package, and we didn't notice this until the next day, the credit card machine was setup with the wrong date! It was set up to "take away" one day from our 3 day turn in.
Maybe not, but it certainly was VERY suspicious! Like most of you guys and gals, we walked away with BIG hopes and dreams and a gut feeling we might have been taken. Our suspicions were correct the next day when I tried to setup our website. Again this was very pitiful!! We called to cancel and was told to mail the product back per the instructions on the invoice. We mailed the product back and we had to get on the phone with HOME several times due to their inability to refund our money.
We looked on the internet and found a webhosting company, Bring It Home. They, in conjunction with Epenzio would build our website, host it and provide any necessary support. We sent them our design ideas and within a week put the site online. I was very dissappointed with the outcome. Most of the links wouldn't work and the artwork wasn't very appealing. Certainly they made efforts to make it the way we wanted, but with our inexperience, you would of thought that they would "recommend" changes in design to ensure compliance with Internet standards. Goodness, I had to use the WebWizard software to pretty much "totally redesign" our site so that the links worked etc.
Not being professional webdesigners, our product turned out pretty good as far as we were concerned. We even had a couple of people compliment us on the site. We checked and rechecked it with all the web goodies. Links were perfect, spelling was perfect, etc. Here is the kicker; Not one single sale was generated. We were kindly told by a professional that our site needed work. We decided to take the site down (after being up for 6 months without a sale) We confronted Epenzio that we felt that we did not receive the support that we expected and wanted to discontinue the Merchant service.
We also found out that Bridgeview canceled our account in Jan02. No one told us of this so even if we did get a sale, the payment processor couldn't handle it. They told me they couldn't verify information. Couldn't someone have called? Epenzio will not allow us to cancel our Merchant account either. Check this out! Do you any of you OWN any physical property that is in your possesion? I for one do not own a single piece of equipment. How on earth can I be expected to pay for something that is not material. Am I paying for air?
To make a long story short, if there is a group of you guys who want to do a classaction lawsuit, I would be willing to participate with you. I am Looking forward to hearing from you guys! (So please post a rebuttal)

..Another victim, a worthless ripoff scam

To the owner: Yes I can imagine returning a vehicle after using it for a while because of disatisfaction. Its called a lemon Law.
I realise Epenzio is not the sole, or maybe even the main perpetrator of this scam. The company who put the whole thing together in my case was Bring it Home. They were to provide advertising and support which they did not do. Although I pre purchased internet advertising from them, they did not perform, continually made excuses, and I guess finally disolved. Any way I am now stuck with a merchant account and the finance contract which are worthless, but are costing me. I've got the car, It's just lemon, is there a lemon law to protect me?

The TRUTH about Mike and Pam's contracts with ePenzio
AUTHOR: Brad Crawford, CEO, ePenzio Inc. - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Friday, February 07, 2003
I am sorry that Mike and Pam feel that there is a problem with the Website or the PenzPay Internet Payment Gateway system that they purchased from ePenzio that would have caused them to have to seek a remedy by this means. I have read Mike and Pams complaint, reviewed all of the contracts that Mike or Pam signed, reviewed all of the notes in the ePenzio database concerning Mike and Pams accounts, and I found the following:
1. Mike and Pam purchased their Website and applied for the financing package for their PenzPay Internet Payment Gateway at a seminar sponsored by HOME Inc. on October 29, 2001. The contracts that Mike or Pam signed on October 29, 2001 required Mike or Pam to sign in 8 different places. Mike and Pam were given copies of all of the contracts that they signed.
2. Mike and Pam had until November 1, 2001 at midnight to cancel their applications and eliminate all of their obligations concerning these contracts.
3. On October 31, 2001, ePenzio received a cancellation notice from Mike or Pam and promptly cancelled the contracts
4. On November 2, 2001, Mike called and spoke with an ePenzio sales person by the name of Tyler. After a long conversation, Mike requested that Tyler send out new contracts for a PenzPay Payment Gateway AND a Website to be included as part of the package.
5. On November 2, 2001, Tyler called to follow up and left a message for Mike.
6. On November 6, 2001, Mike and Tyler spoke again. Mike said that he had the contracts all filled out and ready to go, but that he had a few questions first. Tyler answered all of Mikes questions.
7. On November 8, 2001, ePenzio received the completed contracts back from Mike and Pam.
8. The package that contained the Login ID# and Password for Mike and Pams PenzPay Internet Payment Gateway system was delivered by FedEx on November 19, 2001. It appears that Mike personally signed for the package. You can pull up a copy of the delivery confirmation by going to www.fedex.com and entering the following tracking number 476963327488.
9. Since this date, ePenzio has received from, or made dozens of calls to Mike or Pam and has addressed all of Mike or Pams issues professionally.
10. On January 14, 2002, Mike called and said that he had run a transaction on his PenzPay system, but he had not received the funds yet. Mike was given the number to Bridgeview Bank and told to call them to straighten it out.
11. On April 30, 2002, ePenzio received a cancellation request from Pam. The reason that Pam stated for wanting the loan cancelled was, Since our Website went online late in year 2001, we have not sold the FIRST item.
Based on this information, I see no reason why ePenzio should be compelled to cancel the financing package for Mike and Pam. I think it is obvious from the above stated facts, that Bring it Home and ePenzio have lived up to all of the terms of the contracts that Mike and Pam signed on November 7, 2001. In fact, I am shocked that Mike and Pam can make claims that, Epenzio is a ripoff, class action lawsuit, pitiful business relations, poor business practices. I think it is obvious from the facts that ePenzio delivered a PenzPay Gateway system that worked, because a transaction was run on the account. I think it is obvious that ePenzio delivered a workable Website because Mike and Pam state that they their Website www.secretgiftshop.com - was online in late 2001. If there ever were a class action lawsuit, I would welcome the opportunity to get Mike and Pam on the witness stand and have them testify how everything that was promised was delivered.
ePenzio was NOT Mike and Pams business partner. It was Mike and Pams responsibility to promote their Website and bring customers to their Website. If Mike and Pam would have made $100,000 from their Website, do you think they would have sent ePenzio any of the profits? Not likely.
Mike and Pams complaint is without merit. They had all the time in the world to review their contracts and do any amount of research they wanted before sending the contracts back to ePenzio. If Mike and Pam never sent the contracts back to ePenzio, there would have been nothing ePenzio could have done. ePenzio went to great lengths to deliver everything that was promised and contracted for with Mike and Pam. The only problem seems to be that Mike and Pam decided that their business venture was not as profitable as they wanted it to be. They then requested a cancellation of their loan and ePenzio did not see any grounds for a cancellation. Can you imagine buying a car and after 6 months taking it back to the dealership and asking them to cancel your loan and your contract because the car just didnt go as fast as you wanted it to?
Sincerely,

Took ePenzio a month to get me set up

I'm in.
My complaint is with ePenzio. Fraudulent thirty day demo. Took ePenzio a month to get me set up.
At confrence they said they wouldn't use the bank account for anything more than a credit check. As you allready know thats a lie.
ePenzio has a bit of a responsability to not get involved with such a shady operation yet they show up in servral dishonnest and remarkably similar pages. Most of the names change but ePenzio remains.
I've a website I run totally indupendant of this page and I'm getting traffic to that website using what I've learned about marketting on my own with zero help from the business partners of ePenzio.
There were a number of red flags and I'm still asking myself "why didn't I just get up and walk?"
I just want out of this. All of it. If it takes a lawsute then I'm in.

Responding to all past ePenzio complaints....

My husband & I have also been snookered into ePenzio, Bridgeview Bank, Pacific Webworks and Monterey Financial Services. You can cancel Bridgeview Bank by calling the number on the back of your 'contract' and tell them that you are no longer interested in doing the website thing.
They will give you a fax number to send a letter of cancellation. As for Pacific Webworks, one can go to their site via the web design software that you got at the seminar and tell them that you want to cancel. Someone will phone you within a few days (boy, was I surprised to hear from them that soon) and confirm your cancellation needs.
A comment to the ex-ePenzio man: Oh really? Epenzio is the middle man as you say?? Then why are they listed first on the 'contract' and the forms on Monterey Financial (coupon booklet for money payments) and whenever a spokeperson from Monterey Financial calls looking for their money, they identify themselves with ePenzio???
I do not do the website as none of the software works and I feel that a customer should not have to pay for services not rendered. If there is a first class action around somewheres please write to me at: robk1988@aol.com
Fight the good fight...Janet

ePenzio scam
AUTHOR: Kerry - ()
SUBMITTED: Friday, September 20, 2002
I too was Shanghaied by ePenzio. I have one heck of a time trying to undo what happened. First and foremost, they rush you through tons of documents to sign. Secondly, they only offer this "great deal" on the spot there.
With a little research you can find other information and cheaper ways to get merchant accounts and all that stuff for next to nothing. Some other things to note. The money they deduct from my checking account, some give a phone number on my statement and others do not.
I had one that had a phone number, but it was no longer in service. They completely mislead you in the seminar. I have been checking into ways to get rid of this cancer that is infesting my checking account. Not only do I get money taken out from ePenzio, but the gateway company, the eBenefits company and PenzPay. What all these are, I am not sure.
Another thing is, once you get signed on, they immediately start taking money out of your account. I told them I was not ready to start using the merchant account, but they said if I wanted the $25.00 month to be stopped being taken out, I would have to send them something inwritting and they would charge me $300.00 to terminate this. Which if I wanted to start it up again, then I would have to sign another 3 year contract.
Does anyone know of a good way to get out of this whole ordeal, I would really like to know, I cannot stand this. I got into this becuase I wanted to make money. They dont even give you a chance to make money. They have sent my checking account into the overdraft status so many times it is crazy.
I would certianly be willing to be a part of a class action lawsuit. And any suggestions to getting rid of this would be great. The only thing I can think of is bankruptcy.

To George in OKC!!
AUTHOR: Neil - ()
SUBMITTED: Monday, August 19, 2002
George all you are doing by complaining here is telling people the level of your intelligence. Did epenzio make you sign those forms? Did they make you give them a check etc? That is what I thought.
You don't get it! Epenzio is the middleman here. They have you sign the forms and as soon as you sign them, they sell them to the processing banks and the leasing companies. If you signed up for a 36 month lease for $89.95 it equals around 3,300! What the leasing company does is grades your credit and depending on your credit will fund epenzio a certain amount. In this example maybe like $2,600. (Just an example) After this epenzio is out of the picture. They do not deal with any of those contracts whatsoever. Well now that the leasing company has paid epenzio and you are past your 3 day cancel days the leasing company is not going to let you out of that lease. Flat out they do not care.
Epenzio does not carry the leases or else they would be letting a lot of people out of them but since they are not they can not do anything about it. Every one of you guys on this site needs to get your facts together and go after the right people. The only problem is, is you signed a lease and had 3 days to cancel and the fact that you did not your are out. They only option you have is to sell it(it is an asset) and have them transfer it to someone else's name. Epenzio will willing transfer it to someone elses name.
George if you want to talk tough to me call me at 801 554 1079 or email me at lcjones74@hotmail.com
I will be glad to help you out.

SUBMITTED: Saturday, June 29, 2002
Just for you info epenzio boy, I was flat out lied to by the epenzio rep there and they did not record our little conversation.
Or if they did they have thrown it away now knowing I have their a*s. Doesn't it seem strange that there are so many complaints against epenzio. When there is so many complaints against one company it means that they are doing things wrong.
The truth is that they know if they give you time to look into their little scheme they wouldn't get anybody to sign up!! Then end of story.....end of company!!

Are you Serious?
AUTHOR: Doesn't - ()
SUBMITTED: Thursday, June 27, 2002
Just a comment on your comments. Why would you think that epenzio is responsible for you getting hits on your website? That is your job. Second of all Bridgeview is the bank and they are the ones that is supposed to contact you if there is problems with your information. One thing you need to know about is when you are dealing with a merchant account company you are not just dealing with them but several other companies as well. You are blaming everything that goes wrong on epenzio when in reality it is not their fault.
Epenzio is affiliated with the companies that put on the seminars but that is it. The people at the seminar build you up with this great idea and then epenzio just gets the leads from that to set up the merchant account portion of it. IF you are having problems with bridgeview then contact Bridgeview no? If you are having problems with your website then you need to contact them right? Epenzio only does the merchant account that is It!!!!!!!!
I worked for epenzio for about 6 months and there are alot of people that are upset because they feel they were mislead. Epenzio records all of the seminars and can prove that things people say they said, they never did. Basically the price they sell the program for is pretty high but whos fault is that for signing up? You should use your energy trying to get a real job making real money so you don't have to attend these "Get rich quick" seminars. It is your own fault.
I actaully worked for the company and so if you have any questions about what goes on there you can email me at lcjones74@hotmail.com If you did not read the fine print of the contract you signed then that is your own fault. Epenzio just sells the papers to the bank (bridgeview) and the contract is with them not Epenzio so what can epenzio do for you on that? YOu have to deal with them. All of you people on this site are just a bunch of low income people that run across a "Get rich quick" program and you jump all over it. If it is too good to be true then it probably is!

Mike from Radcliff, KY
What do you do now to handle this problem? Have you started the payment to Monterey Financial or whatever the company that Epenzio uses to receive the "illegal money" from selling a merchant account to you? If you haven't started the payment, then what do you do with the Monterey Financial?
The same question is also going to Jay from SA, TX.
Yes, if there is a class action law suit planned, I want to participate too. I really want these life-sucking companies be terminated and their upper management people be punished severely.
