Ethan Allen the ripoff business that doesnt give a dam Independence Missouri

Two years ago, I visited the Ethan Allen Showroom to purchase furniture for my living room. I worked with one of their consultants. She came to my home, made suggestions on the furniture I needed and what would work in the room.

We set an appointment and I went back to the showroom and ordered the furniture. While there I told the consultant that I did not want anything delivered until all of the furniture was in. She agreed and assured me this would not be a problem.

I wanted the 8-12 weeks for the furniture. The warehouse called and said the furniture is here with the exception of about 4 pieces. I told them I had an agreement with the store and they said I didn't have to take delivery until all items were in.

The man at the warehouse became angry and told me I take it now or I would be charged a storage fee of $25 a day. I called the consultant immediately. Inquired as to why everything but 4 items were in. She told me it was her fault, she had ordered the 4 items incorrectly.

I reminded her of our agreement and she called the warehouse, then called me back and said I had to take the merchandise or pay the storage for the next 6 weeks until the incorrect times were replaced with the correct items.

After many phone calls, I finally told them to just forget the order and I wanted a refund on all the deposits. I was told that was not possible, plus I had to pay a $25 re-stocking fee per item.

I contacted the company that handles the Ethan Allen accounts, which is Monogram Bank, and filed a dispute with them. They contacted the Manager of the store and he told them, he had his money how they got theirs back was their problem.

The bank advised me to contact the manager of the store. He basically told me the same thing. He was very rude and unprofessional.

I kept my end of the deal, paid my deposits, and in the end I have no merchandise.

I will never step foot in the door of and Ethan Allen Showroom again and I advise my friends and family not to either.
