Events And Adventures Bait and Switch Phoenix, Arizona

Let me begin by saying that these people pray on people like myself who are in a vunerable or transition period in our lives and are willing to try anything, almost, to make a change. That said, I signed up with Events and Adventures expecting to receive free and discounted experiences with like minded singles of my age group 24-30.  I was told at signing of the contract that should I meet someone and no longer need the club which I signed up to pay more than $2000 for one year, including monthly dues, I would be allowed to cancel without any penalty or cost outside of what I had paid. I was told that if for any reason I needed to cancel they would be sad to lose me but would be understanding.
I attended an event within a day and a half and found myself surrounded by people aging up to their 70's who were for the most part dissatisfied with the membership.  I was not told where the events would be before signing up for the club and thought they would be in my central area. Again, untrue.  When I contacted them to cancel, as I had been promised I could, the woman denied telling me that and said it was too late to cancel because I had attended an event.  It had been less than the legal 3 business days or 72 hours at this point.
I told the woman I didn't have a car.  I spoke to supervisor after supervisor and the story was the same, "nobody would have said I could cancel in that manor." Needless to say, I am stuck paying these jerks for a service I cannot really afford to use. I don't have a car so can't get to most events because nobody is willing to carpool, their big push for members to do to get to know each other, and my house will be foreclosed on because the majority payer is out of work.
Please, I ask, if anyone know what I can do to cancel this before I owe any more money or lose my own job or my house, please let me know.  Times are tough for all of us, please someone help me if you can.
