So on feb 2 for a bday and lat Christmas present a friend told me to create a controller at evilcontrollers.com, which i thought was a pretty good site and pretty sweet setup on making your controller. One of the things i added was a year warranty to my controller for an additional cost of course (ill bring this back up lil later) my order came around feb 14 and i used the controller to play gow3, a lil under a month goes by and i decide to take the controller to black ops to. on my first game i noticed i CANT sprint (clicking in left analog stick) the only way to sprint is pressing it "extremely" hard. so i emailed the company explaining my situation on 3/15/13. got a response back from them telling me to fill out this repair form and they will get it fixed for me that very same day. so i figured ok cool let me just read over the repair form i have to fill out before i ship it in to them.. upon looking at the repair form i noticed they were going to charge me 10 dollors to ship it to them and if it was a manufactures mistake they would reimburse me the shipping charges, thought ok thats fine kept reading down noticed thumb sticks and bumper buttons are NOT covered under warranty (thought to my self bs, i looked at the small print) they were going to charge me i believe 8 bucks for the repair to occur plus tax. well i went to THEIR site scrolled to bottom clicked small print and the terms and agreements. this is a copy and past from their website....(added the top para and bottom title to show thats all what the warranty says.

DISCLAIMER AND LIMITATION ON LIABILITYBY USING THIS WEB SITE, YOU ASSUME ALL RESPONSIBILITY AND RISK FOR THE USE OF THIS WEB SITE AND THE INTERNET GENERALLY. THE INFORMATION IS PROVIDED

I then spent a few looking around their site trying to find where in gods name it says the warranty doesnt cover thumbsticks or bumperbuttons if its not under terms and agreements and SMALL PRINT...its only under the repair form which i couldnt find on their site its only when they email it to you to fill out for a problem...with this being said im in a email battle going on for 3 days with these people telling them...
1)controller is under 1 MONTH old and not working
2)YOUR WARRANTY DOESN'T say anything about excluding parts
3)from reading others complaints how am i to spend 20 dollars on your faulty product to ship it to you and pay for parts COVERED under warranty and risk the chance of NOT getting it back or (principle)  getting my shipping back
4)being its under a month with warranty THEY should send me a box with the repair form in it and ill fill the repair form out as long as it goes with MY WARRANTY actually its not even my warranty its YOUR WEBSITES WARRANTY and send my controller to them with a return stamp THEY mail to me in that box.

i mean i dont even know if ill get a good controller back even if i did pay to send it back just get screwed over with them messing with something. truthfully i dont know what to do break down and take chance that with me arguing with them saying its under warranty just say "F" it and mail it to them and pay for it and risk getting a shotty job or waiting 2 months like ive read from other complaints to get the controller back

or should i just keep pushing for THE WARRANTY I PAYED FOR and THE WARRANTY ON THEIR WEBSITE

i already printed the page out so if they try to "change" the page with the warranty cover on it i at least have the original.. i even went so far as printing every single page on that website to show that is no sign of this so called "void" in warranty it is NOWHERE to be found EXCEPT on the repair form NOT on their website

suggestion DON'T use evil controllers they talk all sweet but they are really just a cobra in the brush taking your money and then trying to make more and more money of you for THEIR FAULTY products

i'm going to start off with i have not received any email from your department yet. second it doesn't matter what other companies warranty, on a LEGAL view from a judge and lawyer its the paperwork and what is said. with NO evidence warranty not covering thumb sticks and bumper buttons they are infact covered from what your warranty states on the website, i know this cause i did talk to my fiances uncle who is a lawyer, but i will not push that issue if you are going to take care of the problem.

i would like to make sure we are on the same page so no "surprises" occure

1)evil controllers IS sending me.....
A)small empty box (for controller)
B)repair form (stating my thumb sticks ARE covered under warranty)
C)a stamp for me to mail it back to you FREE of charge
D)and a paper stating if i do not recieve my controller upon being repaired (in a reasonable manner)evil controllers will send me a full refund for my controller and it must be signed but you(carlos) and amanda
E)I(insert my name) am NOT paying a penny for the shipping, repair, and return shipping

upon these requests when everything is said and done, and i receive my controller i will gladly delete every trace of bad reports i have writen about your company and i will go to your website and leave a positive feedback

if there are any conflicts or questions i would like to hear before we take any step farther. if everything is good and we are at a agreement email me the tracking number for UPS for my box.

Have a great day Carlos

Hi Derby,

I can understand your degree of frustration. It is very disappointing to receive a high end product that does not work to its full potential. However, we are here to help.  It seems as though your complaint is revolving around very specific wording on our repair form regarding thumbsticks and bumpers. Thank you for bringing this to our attention so we can amend it. Your issue will be addressed with no charge to you.

The original repair form is written for all users of our controllers. People that have purchased our controller 2 months ago, 9 months ago and for customers that have purchased a controller 1 or 2 years ago.

It is a common issue with Microsoft Xbox 360 controllers to develop bad thumbstick assemblies over time (this term is referring to the thumbstick control unit physically attached to the controllers internal board.) There is another common issue with bumpers losing their click. These are issues that Microsoft Xbox 360 controllers inherently have and as a result are not covered by our warranty as all purchases of a Microsoft Xbox 360 controller would have the same likelihood of those issues and cannot be addressed without an entirely new controller.

We understand your issue arose within a few weeks of purchasing your controller.  I apologize that our customer service rep gave you a general response and created confusion. This is something WE DO cover. I believe customer service has since emailed you the correct resolution which does not require any additional payment on your end.

If you could contact me at Carlos@evilcontrollers.com I would happily facilitate the desired solution to your issues.

Best,

Carlos
