I contacted "Free Credit Report.com" approximately 3 years ago. I had no idea that they were charging me as much as $50 per month for all these years.
After checking for another problem, this is how I found out what they had been doing all this time, they even signed me up to have two separate accounts, that is how they felt they could get away with charging me up to $50 per month.
After contacting my credit card about this, they then sent me records of each and every transaction that was placed on my bill. They would even charge of another company brought up my credit report for any reason.
I was able to get every penny returned to my credit card which was hundreds of dollars. After this, I called the "Free Credit Report.com" company and this person advised that all you have to do is call or contact them on line to get a credit report done, you automatically are signing up for this for the rest of your life, or at least until you discover the deceptive practices they conduct.
I still get emails that might say something like, "a friend wants to talk to you", and then you find out that it is actually credit reporting companies who feel that they can headline a email deceptively in order to get you to click on their web sight. Problem is, I get probably 5 emails which are lies every day from this not so free "free credit report.com". I seen now why there is already almost 500 complaints already logged against them. Oh well, live and learn!!!!! I learned to check my credit card charges every month for scammers!!!!! :)

It does not matter how often or not a consumer checks his or her bank statements to inspect for any fraud. If the company is charging his card without his knowledge they are by law in the wrong. They had the nerve to open more than one account and charge him a nominal amount of money that most of us would have missed. Yes 3 years worth is a bit much, however the consumer failing to catch it in any time frame does not make what the company did to this person right or fair or even lawful for that matter. If I were wrong here, this consumer would not have gotten their money back. As to your comment that this person's credit card company would cancel his card for being a high risk, you are incorrect and there are FCC laws that protect the consumer as well as the credit card companies. Also, credit card companies pay salaries of employees hired to investigate and in some cases share their findings with the Federal agencies so as to better protect consumers, so this does not constitute being labeled "high risk".
You sound angry in your response, almost like you work for this hack of a company that should shut down. Hmmmmm. You need to learn your rights and facts before responding to a person that has been taken advantage of in an unlawful manner. Duh.

I definately deserve everything that you said in your entry. I admitted that a lot of this was my fault as you have also pointed out, and again your right, I didn't read all of the alleged contract which would state in the fine print that I would be taking on a monthly charge for as long as it took to realize it.
When you have a company which names itself "Free Credit Report" then this is misleading. I guess that is why when they send out emails, they name the email everything other than "Free Credit Report.com". I was not the only one who wrote in about this very same thing, over 400, so at least I'm not the only one who was negligent in the way I did this.
I wanted to let others know about this so they wouldn't make the same mistake I did. So "DUH" I do take responsibility for my own actions, and as the credit card company stated to me, "they get the same complaint over and over about free credit report.com".
I do appreciate you pointing out my deficiencies as I had noted them when I filed the report. Thank you so much, DUH.

If you are telling the full and complete story you don't know how lucky you are because of YOUR negligence. That's right..YOURS. You can claim that they were "deceptive" all day long. But they didn't hide the withdraws. They were right on your statements all you had to do was read.
You have 60 days to dispute any transactions, after that the bank does not have to do anything for you. It is and always has been YOUR responsibility, as you finally figured out, to review YOUR statements EVERY month. If you think your credit card company was helpful in this one..you will also find that they will get remarkably less helpful if you try to make another claim. In fact they may even decide to turn around and just close your acccount because you are too high of a risk. Now, you are probably saying..no that will never happen..my credit card company is the best. So just think of this as a "heads up" to keep in mind.
Oh and as to how you got signed up for this. Well you went to the site to request your credit score/report. You freely and willingly entered in your credit card number. But since you obviously don't review your statements it is really no shock that you failed to read the terms on the site as to what you were agreeing to, and probably just checked the box that said you read and agreed to them.
