Express Scripts was who our Union Local used for their Pharmacy. We live 100 miles from St. Louis, MO so we were to use Mail-Order.
After we visited the doctor for our annual check-up to get our medication scripts renewed for another year, the doctor faxed our scripts in to Express Scripts again, as usual. For some reason, instead of waiting for us to call and order what medications we needed by phone, like we always did, they took it upon themselves to fill ALL the scripts even though we had just ordered refills a few weeks prior.
They even filled old scripts we hadn't used in nearly a year! They sent us $800.00 worth of medicine to which most of it we couldn't use. I called and told them they made a mistake and that we couldn't use most of the medicine they sent us. Their reply was that we opened the bag so they couldn't take the medicine.
We opened the bag BECAUSE we hadn't ordered anything so we didn't know why we received a large bag from them, and we HAD to open the bag to SEE what they sent us, and why.
So, then we got stuck with an $800.00 bill for something we didn't ask for nor order. I have paid half of the bill so far in a year but money is tight and this is really stressing us financially. How can a business get away with mailing a person something they didn't order or ask for, and demand payment. Especially medications!
