Received a phone call from phone number (909) 842-9148. First person I spoke to had an Middle East accent and said his name was Kevin Davis, employee number 11654.

He stated that they are running a promotion for Visa & Mastercard users and noticed that I use my Visa card to purchase gas, so they wanted to give me a $100 in Gas Coupons to use at any gas station.

All I have to do is give the gas station clerk the coupon and the passcode and I can spend up or use up to $100 gas coupons.

He explained to me that all I had to pay is $1.95 for the shipping & handling which would not be billed to me until after I receive the coupons in a packet. He then first asked me for my Visa's expiration date to put on the coupons.

He then asked me for a Visa or Mastercard credit, debit or gift card to verify that I am the person receiving these coupons. He didn't want my SSN, or 3 digit number on the back of my card. He said give him any card that I'm authorized to use.

Afterwards he is going to put his Senior Supervisor on the phone to confirm the information and explain again the program. The Sr. Supervisor's name was James, but didn't give his last name.

James repeated the program back to me and then explained that the credit card that I gave to the rep will be the card that gets billed the 1.95. I told him that is not what Kevin explained to me and because of that I'm not comfortable.

James tried to reassure me that this is legit and that I will not be billed until I receive the packet. Not once did they tell me who is sponsoring in giving these coupons away.

So I asked him who is giving these coupons away and he stated EZ-1-Rate! Long Distance Service. He goes on to explain that in the packet there will be an offer for long distance that is free for 10 days and after 10 days I would have to pay 19.95 plus 49.95 if I want to keep the service.

I told him that I don't want that and he stated again that I'm not being charged for that. He also then tried to give me $500 in shopping coupons for additional $2.95 and I told him I'm not interested.

James then goes to explain that he is going to transfer me to an automated system that will ask me for today's date, first & last name, the card number and other information and then I will be given my passcode for the coupons.

I told him that I wasn't interested and he stated well go through the system anyway and then all you have to do is say No. He also mentioned that he will be on the line as well. (I thought that was weird).

He stated that everything from this point needed to come from the computer but he will be on line to help me through the system if I get stuck or disconnected.

I went through the system and said No and he comes in on the call and says you have to give today's date and your first & last name. I said ok and then I hung up.

James the Sr. Supervisor calls my house immediately twice!!!! I finally picked up and he immediately asks me why did I do that in a frustrated tone? I told him why are you questioning the customer?

If I'm not interested that is my choice. I told him that he was being beligerant and harrassing me and that he was getting upset with me and I didn't appreciate his tone. He kept coming at me as to why I don't want to do this program and that there's nothing to be worried about.

He still kept coming at me and so I had to let him know that I work with a Corporate Law Firm and that I'm going to report him to the Better Business Bureau and his company will be hearing from me very soon! He said, "OK ma'am and then keeps talking, so I hung up. He didn't call back.

I immediately notified my credit card company and luckily I used a gift card that didn't have very much left on it. The company told me to quickly use the balance that I have left so that this other company can not use the balance.

They stated that if they are persistant in trying to push a transaction through they will, in their own way, intercede on my behalf and find out why they are trying to use this card. But that I my gift card will not go over the 0 balance.

I have never experienced someone who wants customers, turn around and argue with someone that they are trying to get business from. I immediately got on the internet and googled their name and the first top 10 links are nothing but Scam reports on this company!
