My son lost his phone, which I'm sure is common occurance in any family. How this matter is resolved in regards to the service provider is either responsible or shady. This is the first time I have had this incident in over a year of service with Family Mobile from Walmart.

I reported the phone lost the very day the incident occurred. The sutomer service representative assured me that the phone was deactivated. Since it is a monthly service prepaid phone, I understand that by having the phone deactivated I will not incur any charges after that point. I also would think that with the phone being deactivated I would not be able to pay for another month of service on that account. Wrong.

When I made my next monthly payment, the service plan for the lost phone was included in the charge. One month later I replace the phone and contact customer service again. I am told that they are not responsible for a lost phone. I understand completely. They did not buy my son a new phone. That is not their responsibilty. Catch-22.

By not being responsible for my son's lost phone, that somehow translate through their customer service representatives as, "We are not responsible for your lost phone, or the fact that we took your payment for a lost phone after it had been reported lost." So, it's okay to steal?

They would not refund my payment. All they did is transfer the remaining 5 days left of service to the new phone. So, they get to keep my money for the last 25 days when the phone was lost and not being used. What kind of ethics does this company have? Not honest ones, that is for sure.
