This company will NOT honor their policy as stated on their website on the Best Fare Guarantee. I called and after holding for about 30 minutes, spoke with someone with an Indian accent and was told that he know the policy and I cannot get a refund. I booked a flight hurriedly for a funeral from MCO to GEO on their website, and about 2 or 3 hours later, found that priceline.com had the exact flight for $686.00
Farebuzz had charged me $741.60, so for $55.60, they will not honor their website policy. Here is a cut and paste on what their policy states:
Notifying Fare Buzz of a Best Price Guarantee Claim:
You must email us at cs@FareBuzz.com along with competitor's offer, name of competitor, and screenshots of flights actually available to be booked from a reputable U.S website within twenty-four (24) hours after your Fare Buzz booking to make a claim under the Best Price Guarantee. The lower rate must be available for booking at the time you contact us, as determined by our customer service representatives.
The Best Price Guarantee is available only if the lower priced offer matches exactly each and every element present in itinerary booked with us, - such as same, specific carrier or provider (including same class of service and refund policy), - the exact same dates and times of travel or service, the same airfare class, hotel room type or car class, as booked through Fare Buzz. The comparison must be with the same product stand-alone through another website. The Best Price Guarantee is not available for bookings on websites where the carrier booking details are unknown until after purchase, such as an auction website or a website offering opaque fares. You must meet all requirements imposed by the lower price offer (if any), including, without limitation, residency, regional and age-related requirements. The interpretation given by Fare Buzz to these rules is final and binding.
I tried emailing the email address they have (CS@farebuzz.com), but that is not a valid address. I then emailed info@farebuzz.com, but they said that the fare is booked and confirmed. So basically, they will not even entertain the thought on their own policy rules.
The matter of $55.60 is not the underlying issue here, but others should be warned of this rip off. Beware if you book on this site. I still need to verify if they charged me correctly on my credit card, as I also saw another report where someone was charged more than what they were quoted for on the website.
I have pdf documentation of the priceline fare, plus the email I sent to farebuzz, including the one that was to the invalid email address. Shame on you farebuzz for ripping off the little man. I will never, ever, do business with this site again, regardless of the circumstances.
