I had an account with FCNB/SPIEGEL in 1997 and the merchandise I had ordered I returned. I recently have pulled my credit file and FCNB is reporting that this was charged off and a settlement was accepted on this account. I have called Spiegel and was told that FCNB went bankrupt and all inquiries have to submitted to the Card Processing Center. Well I have wrote many times to the address they provided to me and I have yet to hear from this company. I disputed this on my credit file and FCNB is still verifying that this is being reported correctly. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do? These false claims are ruining my credit worthiness. HELP!
