In November of 2014 I called Festiva to pay my timeshare fees (about 700).  They owed me a credit of 100$ from my previous stay for a presentation my parents attended.  They denied knowledge of this credit and advised I call marketing.  I placed the call and spoke with someone who was unable to help me and had no alternate solution to this problem.  In December, hoping to reach someone of knowledge, I called again to make my timeshare payment.  Again I was given numbers to call and again no help was forthcoming.  Oddly, the people on this call actually laughed at me.  I guess it is funny to Festiva that their owners can not receive responsible assistance with their acct.  Again in January I called, was given numbers to call and again, as usual with Festiva, I received no assistance.

In February I made my monthly call to settle my account and I spoke with a young lady who actually offered to help. She took my number and worked diligently for weeks and finally was able to resolve this issue.  In March I received a check from    Festiva for 100 $ as promised to be applied to my maintenance fees.  I called to pay my fees and they said sorry we took so long but now you have not only missed your opportunity for your week 6 timeshare but now you owe LATE FEES.  I immediately notified owner services because I was sure this was an error but they said there was nothing they could do (which really means there is nothing they are willing to do).  Odd, considering the rude treatment I had received, the lost opportunity to use my timeshare and my willingness every month to pay my fees.  Since March I have received a second check for 100$ But again it would be dishonest of me to cash it as it is meant to be applied to maintenance fees which remain unpaid.  That check dated 7/8/2015.

 

They turned the account over to a collection service and I explained as soon as they are willing to collect the correct fee I am anxious to pay, even though now I can not even use my week. Each time they REFUSE collection.  Now, they have reported me to collection agencies (which I will dispute as I have ALWAYS been willing to pay my fees).

 

I own timeshare at Wyndham, Spinnaker, and one in crossville tenn (I cant remember the management group name).  I have had similiar issues with each of them and each has responded respectfully, timely and appropriately.  Something Festiva is unwilling to do.  I find it strange as they are in a customer service business yet provide poor customer service.

At this late date I now consider the fees completely waivable as it is not reasonable that I can use my unit and I have made every attempt to pay my correct fees and Festiva is unwilling to accept them.

Hind site is 20/20 but if I were to do this over again I would stay way clear of Festiva as I consider them the sharks of the timeshare community.  They have misrepresented other aspects of ownership to me to a lesser extent and that too would make me hesitant to purchase ANYTHING from this company.
