Fidelity Warranty Services Refused a valid claim on the Road Hazard Tire & Wheel Protection Plan I purchased ripoff Deerfield Beach Florida
*Consumer Comment: Many stores [examples- Costco, Sam's] offer "lifetime" balancing, rotation, road hazard, M&B.....
I purchased the Road Hazard Tire & Wheel Protection Plan that was supposed to cover tire repair or replacement. I ran over a nail on the highway and it popped my tire. Since you can not stop in the middle of the highway, I immediatley pulled over on to the off ramp. A tow service replaced the tire with a spare tire.
When I went to file the claim with Fidelity, they denied it because they said I drove on the tire yet there was no damage to the rim. I asked how you could avoid from driving on the tire since you have to pull over out of traffic? BEWARE. DO NOT BUY Auto warranties through FIDELITY WARRANTY SERVICES!

for $9 per tire. Of course, some of these places have limited tire selections that vary from time to time. But their road hazard warranties are reasonably generous. These shops are 'self insured', i.e. they provide your replacement tire out of their inventory and they charge you prorata so if the tire tread depth (in the center) is 1/2 worn you pay 1/2 the price of a new tire.
I really see no advantage to buying a third-party insurance policy. And now I bet you feel the same way....
Do note that tire warranties (milage warranties, etc.) may only last four (4) years and then the tire may be deemed "too old" to repair or replace under warranty..... especially if the tire has numerous small cracks in the rubber, aka "dry rot".
