JM&A Group / Fidelity Warranty Services, Inc.

I purchased a new 2013 VW Passat TDI in August of 2013. The dealership sold me a 7 year/100,000 mi. extended warrenty in the amount of $2599.00 from JM&A Group. Since the diesel gate issue that VW has been charged and convicted of in the US courts they are going to purchase my Passat back from me. I called JM&A about a refund for the remainig amount due from the warrant and was given a figure of $1254.74 approximately 49% of the amout I payed for the coverage? Their reasoning is that you are paying for a 7 yr. extended warrant and that I am already into it for 3 yrs. and 7 months. I asked them what they covered for the first 3 yrs. that Volkswagen did not and they said towing and car rental. I have that with my insurance company already. If I had known this is the way they opperated I would have waited until the Volkswagen warranty expired and then purchase an extended warranty.

This would be like buying an insurance policy for your car and then going out and buying an other one that you don't use!

Be very cautious when purchasing from this company you could be paying for a warranty that you already have with your new car purchase.

Refund expected?

I also see that you seem mainly concerned that you paid for protection but aren't getting 100% of your money back. Something to consider here is that the service contract did cover repairs your warranty would not, you did have the roadside plan and trip protection and most importantly THE CONTRACT WOULD COST MORE IF YOU BOUGHT IT AT THE END OF THE FACTORY WARRANTY!!. Part of the reason it was so cheap was that there was a period of time you weren't likely to file a claim. It's just like any other insurance!

pay what you use

I am confused by your post. I think that what you are saying is that you don't want to pay for the time you used on your contract.  Isn't that like saying that I pay for health care all year long and if I don't use it therefor I want all my money back.   Your logic is out of line.  Someone need to expalin to you about insurance, and how it works.  I didn't see anything in your article about them not covering something.

Your also mentioned that you already have insurance on the car to cover rental and towing.   But you blame them for covering it.  You alone admit that you should have waited to buy an extended warr. till after the factory one was done.  And somehow you blame them for what you didn't know.
