How on earth does Fifth Third Bank stay in business. Why does the Federal Goverment allow this shameful, disgusting, disgraceful bunch of thieves to continue staying in business. Their Business philophosy makes the Mafia look like Saints.
4 1/2 years ago I financed my Truck with Fifth Third Bank. It has truly been the most horrible business experience and 4 1/2 years of my life. When the ecocomy slipped 2 years ago, I began to struggle getting my payments in on time.

I would frequently run 5-20 days late, but never 30 days late. With Fifth Third, once you run 10 days behind, their pack of wolves come out and terrorize you every hour of every day on the phone, til the payment arrives. I can deal with that, but not when they choose to call my neighbors, every hour on the hour. When my neighbors answer their phone, they begin to question them about me, their relationship with me and whether they really know me. Now my 5 years of terror is almost over. I have just 5 months left to pay these criminals.

But wait it gets better. This past month my payment ran 26 days late, I rushed a payment to them, it arrived prior to 30 days late. For whatever reason, 4 days after my payment arrived, Fifth Third Bank made good on their promise to reposess my Truck. They put out out a reposess order and took my truck at 2 in the morning. Truly an embaressment, waking all of my neighbors up at 2 am with their loud truck and flashing tow truck lights. I was so ashamed. I pleaded with the driver not repo my truck.

I showed him my cashed check from Fifth Third Bank. They did not care. The next morning at 9 am, I wired Fifth Third Bank my current payment, which was just 4 days due, next months payment and a $585 Reposession Fee. I wish had the money to pay off the last 4 payments and close the chapter on this horrible relationship with this terrible heartless, spineless people known as Fifth Third Bank and its nasty employees.

It has now been 2 days since the reposession, Fifth Third still has my Truck, They have my money and I have nothing. they can't even return my vehicle in a timely basis. I work 3 jobs right now and it is hurting my income not having my vehicle. Hoping some day all of the victims of the Fifth Third Bank will join forces and sue the pants off this horrible company and shut them down once and for all. Start by closing any accounts with Fifth Third Bank today and tell everyone you know to do the same. Maybe Fifth Third Banks Creditors will terrorize them the way they do to thousands of customers everyday.

Fifth Third Bank is Not Consumer Friendly

AUTHOR: Misled Ohio - (United States of America)

POSTED: Saturday, December 03, 2011

I do not have a loan but an account with them.  You are correct they are not consumer friendly.  They will find any way they can to make a dollar from their banking customers.  If they are wrong they are still right.  They do not like to talk about when they had to pay back all the overdraft fees they wrongful took from the customers by minipulating checks in the order they wanted so more checks would bounce...oops...they got caught!!!  Why do people use them...cause they are everywhere.

The other comments must be from them or their employees.  Not from one of the millions of people out there that has lost their jobs or suffered bad times.  Yes there is contracts people has signed but you don't go out and act like loan sharks calling neighbors or bothering people every hour.  You don't humilate people when they are down. Don't you think they realize they know they owe the bill. What are the neighbors going to do stone them to death?  That isn't going to help the matter. What the goverment should have done is took away the banks when they owed the money.....oh no....they forgot about that?  Are they any better than we are?

So before the rest of you comment on something on contracts.  Comment on the truth.  Deal with Fifth Third Bank.  I had a stock monies transfer for thousands sent to my account.  Usually the deposit takes three days.  After 5 days they could not find it.  It appeared in my sons account.  How did that happen?  Oh they said an error?  How the heck did that happen?  Cancelled my trip is what they did.  Did they make it good?  No.  I'm sure you will say I should have planned ahead.  No that is not the answer~ the answer is they are a mess.  Told me one time to go out and get my husband so I could cash a check.  We both have the first initial R.  The check for $55.  I said ok but when I come in have my savings account balance ready to be withdrawn in cash with your manager waiting.  They said why?  I said in this day and age when I need my husband to cash a check I need a new bank.  They seen the balance on my savings and changed their mind and the manager apologized.  That is how crappy the Cincinnati 5/3 bank is.

5/3 is not a bank with a heart.  They are just crude rude people.  Everytime I said no they would get mean.  Until I threatened to pull my account.  There is no mid point.  Their employees are not friendly until you get abrasive with them.  They are down right bullies.

Have a credit card missing?  Ever try to locate the telephone number on the website?  Good luck? Welcome to a nightmare.   I've been with them 10 years and the last 2 have been a total nightmare....I have no idea what has been going on but that bank has been going down hill.  I wish someone would investigate it internally!   I know one thing it sure is not a consumer friendly bank.

And the bank is the bad guy?

AUTHOR: I am the law - (USA)

Ok, I sympathize with you when you said things got tough for you when the economy started going sour. But, at the same time, you were constantly late on your payments. You signed a contract, stating that you'd make all of the payments on time, and you didn't fulfill that promise. So, of course you're going to get collections calls and the threat of repo. Why are you blaming the bank? Did you think that they'd adopt a "just pay whenever you can" mentality? Sorry, the world doesn't work like that.

P.S. You don't have to be 30 days late for a repo to occur. It can happen if you constantly pay late, too. Look at your contract.

5th 3rd Bank

Correct.  By law, if your payment is due on the 10th of the month,  the bank can repossess on the 11th if payment has not been received.  After all, it's THEIR money that bought that vehicle for you.

I also have to ask...

Where did you get the idea that is is okay to be 30 days late on a loan payment? This is a new era...the Internet allows us in most cases to pay a bill on the due date and as long as it is in before the end of the business day and  they can't even charge a late fee. But God forbid you miss by a SECOND..you are penalized.

So, we all know they no longer extend courtesy for being late even by a millisecond so who told you we have 30 days?

But

But you were constantly late paying your bill.  Why do you think they are disgraceful because they want you to keep your commitment?

Read your contract, I doubt seriously if it says you can pay 30 days late with no repercussions.

We have obligations in life and are expected to live up to them.  You are not an exception.

Another person who is constantly late but thinks that THEY are the ones who are being ripped off.  It's funny how you didn't think they were criminals when they were willing to loan you several thousand dollars to buy a car.  But they only became criminals when they started to hold you to this agreement.

Here is some news for you.  A bank is NOT a charity..yea I know shocking.  You made a legal agreement to pay them a certain amount at a certain day EACH and EVERY month during the terms of your loan.  By you being anywhere from 5-29 days late consistently you are not meeting those terms.

You seem to think that 30-Days late is some "magic number" that as long as you are before that you are okay.  Well I don't know where you go that idea, but the moment you become delinquent they have the right to start up collection efforts and/or repossess your car.

Oh and by the way with the history you described, don't think you would have been treated any differently by other finance companies.
