My mother and I have a joint account at Feed The Bank (5th 3rd) and we are constancely paying overdrafts because of there delay of registering transactions. We have been in the Detroit branch of the bank and sat down with a manager and she looked us in our faces and said that checks and debits had cleared our account and that the balance was accurate, and two days later send a notice of the account being overdrafted.

I had my mother go to the bank twice and try to close the account and they refuse to do it, but they are charging us $6.00 a day for having an overdrawn account which I don't feel we should continue to pay when they are not explaning what all this charges are for.

Its hard enough trying to pay for gas and food and now we have to Feed The Bank instead of Feeding Our Pig. I just need someone to help me with this issue because this bank is just ripping us and as I can see other customers off and getting away with it.How do we stop this bank from robbing customers and smiling in our faces? How do I sue the overdraft pants off of them?

Well the BBB in Cincinnati has some real pull with Fifth Third!!

AUTHOR: Dot - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, May 14, 2008

Well the BBB in Cincinnati has some real pull with Fifth Third!!

After complaining to a half dozen people at Fifth Third I told them they left me no choice but to file complaints with the FTC, my Senators and Representatives and any other organization I could find to complain to. I did so including a complaint to the BBB (Better Business Bureau) in Cincinnati where Fifth Third is headquartered. The BBB had a record of 39 complaints against 53 bank all of which were resolved!! This was quite different outcome from the hundreds, maybe thousands of unresolved complaints I found on internet sites including Ripoff report's website. So guess what - one week after I filed with the BBB my complaint was resolved and the bank reversed $175 in fees and $30 in finance charges returning me to a 0% APR for 6 more months!! BBB record now 40/40, batting 1000 against Fifth Third! !

So if you want Fifth Third to listen to you - everyone!!!- file a complaint with the BBB in Cincinnati - use the website for Fifth Third (www.53.com) when asked what company you are complaining about and pick the Cincinnati headquarters.

I Feel Your Pain...Banks are Wondering Why they are Going Broke and then Turn around and Attempt to ruin Your Credit to boot.

Here are a Few Suggestions: Report them to Federal Trade Commission and also to Secret Service. There Is no Excuse for them Not to Close the Account. You can also Report them to your Local Attorney General's Office. It is the Squeaky Wheel that Gets the oil!
