First American Homebuyers Protection Corporation Denied a warranty claim that was clearly covered their policy Van Nuys California

A First American Homebuyer's warranty was purchased by my wife and myself in the spring of 2006 at the advice of a high volume realtor that employed my wife at the time. They came recommended because her testimony was that they actually honored their warranty agreement. Of course when we purchased the protection and our air conditioner went out in the Texas heat, then they wanted to replace it with a lower SEER air conditioner and charge us for the privilege. I think the realtor got good service because she supplied them the business. My wife was just a piss ant.

I took their cash offer which put me ahead after their ripoff premium and called myself even applying the money to the air conditioner that I actually wanted not the piece of crap they were trying to stiff me with. It is an illusion to think that another entity sight unseen will cover your home for all this stuff and think that you are covered. Hopefully this was the first industry to go down the toilet during the housing/economy bust. There is no integrity here, so don't expect it. There may be some merit to buying a warranty just so you can sell a house and claim its covered to the new owner, but in my opinion this was just part of the sleaze industry of the housing boom. They serve no useful purpose and should die in their own right.
