I purchased the 3 year 36,000 mile warranty for $1,495.00 when I bought my truck from the dealer in 2005. I returned to the dealership when the adjustor for my emergency brake froze.

The dealership called FESC to authorize the repair and were denied. I contacted the 800 number that I was given and asked why a frozen adjustor was not covered when it is listed under Base coverage.

I was told that the adjustor failed due to rust. When I asked how else it might fail, I could not get an answer. I asked to speak to a manager and was directed to a voicemail. I did not scream or threaten, I only asked that I be called back that day to discuss the situation.

I made the call 7 hours before they closed and did not get a response. I called back the next morning and again asked for a manager. I got a voicemail again. I again left a voicemail stating that i wanted to be called at once about my situation.

Hours later i received a call from one of their manager's who only told me that the warranty only covered mechanical defects. I told her that my signed contract did not mention this. I was told that the contract speaks of rust and corrosion not being covered listed under the title "what is not covered." I looked and could not find any reference to this. I had 5 people read the contract top to bottom and they could not find this mentioned either.

Thinking that perhaps I had an old contract I called back to try to get a fax number so that at the least she could fax it back with the section highlighted. The same manager refused, saying that she did not need to see my contract and would not give me a fax number.

I have since had 2 service managers and 4 mechanics look at the problem and they have told me that rust is the only reason the adjustor would freeze. I am now going to see a lawyer to look at legal options.
