After having this card for several years and never late on any payments-they raised my interest from 9% to 36% for a foreclosure that appeared on my credit report. During this time I also disputed a charge that a dishonest merchant had charged on my account without my permission. He could not provide a signed, detailed receipt which was required and this company took his word for it with no documentation that was required. I should have hired an attorney then.

After several calls to speak to the manager, I was left on hold for over 30 minutes then was told that a manager would have to call me back. They never did. I closed my account and stopped paying.

Now, I am past my limit on my account since they have added numerous fees since I close my account (I was thousands away from my limit at the time I closed my account). I started to get 0% interest on my statements after several months. I called to work out a repayment plan. I was told that I must pay three large payments consecutively for three months and then my payments would drop dramatically and I would only have to pay 2% of the total due and my account would then be brought up to current and I would remain on interest only.

Two weeks before my last payment was made I received a call from Diane(a) tell me that I need to make the last payment within less than 48 hours or my account would be sent to collections. I had kept in close contact with this company throughout the months (speaking to three different people and verifying my due dates since they "had to be made between two specific dates" since my statements did not reflect my payment plan and did not tell me when my payments were due. They just listed a Due Now on my mailed statements and not a date.

I then, asked for the plan to be in writing (something I should have done three months ago) I asked to speak to the manager (she told me her name was Marcie) and was told that she had left for the day and would not be back for a couple of days (this would make it past my 48 hour deadline) and she had my file with her. And she was the only one to provide me with something in writing. She said that they could not change my statements to the correct terms and list the proper due date due to OCC laws. I called the OCC to file a complaint but this will not stop it from going to collections in 48 hours. The company is dishonest and shady and should be audited and stopped for playing by their own rules.
