First National Bank of Omaha credit cards should be avoided, especially balance transfer promotions! This bank will continually monitor you credit report and will immediately charge you exhorbatant interest (31.5%) on your remaining balance should any discrepancy appear - regardless if the discrepancy is an error made by another institution. First National will not take any action except to harrass you for payment of the rip-off amounts. If you refuse to make these payments and attempt to explain the error, they will take no action but to file with a credit agency and ruin your credit.
We have used balance transfers and no-interest promotional plans for many years with many different institutions. The only other experience we have had of this sort was a no-interest promotion with Household Finance Corp. in California. We reported their abuses to to the State Attorney General. HFC was eventually sued by the State of California and found guilty of consumer fraud.
Our credit score prior to our experience with First National Bank of Omaha was above 760. It is now below the score necessary for a best interest loan.
You have many opitions as a consumer, why take a chance on First National of Omaha. It could end up costing you tens of thousands of dollars in higher loan finance charges in the future.

What I meant to say, and didn't, is that every credit company is now constantly monitoring your credit reports, and if your credit is less than perfect ANYWHERE, they will jack your rates. One of the most important metrics is the ratio of credit used to credit available. If a consumer has accounts that are maxxed out, they become a much greater risk, and the credit companies raise the rate accordingly.
I am not defending this practice, and I wouldn't deal with a company that did it to me, but the fact of life is that it is happening.

Do not accept this attitude. I have dealt with several credit card companies - Chase, Bank of America, Best Buy - on no-interest promotional purchases and balance transfers. The ONLY company with whom I have had this problem is First National of Omaha.

Every credit card company is doing the same thing.
