First National Credit Services rip-off Boca Raton Florida

I started using 1st National Credit services in August of 2002. I was sending this company $148 plus a $3 processing fee each month since then, to pay off my credit card debt. I had 5 credit cards that I wanted to consolidate into one easy payment.

Since starting the program I have gotten statements from my cards showing late payments, or payments below the minimum. 1st National has always said that it takes a little while for the creditors to stop doing that. I took their word for it.

Then, in December the really threatening letters started to come and and the phone calls were every single day. I received a letter from one of my creditors stating that I was being turned over to an attorney. I called the number on the letter and was told that I needed to pay the full balance on my card, take a settlement (which stays on your credit report for 7 years) or be sent to the attorney.

I took the settlement, as it was my only option. I then called 1st National and got their "voice mail". They were still supposed to be open for several hours. I didn't hear back from them for 2 weeks. It seemed funny to me that they kept calling me back when I was at work, but when i would call during their business hours, I couldn't get anyone on the phone.

I have paid them over $800, and have had to borrow money from my family to pay off my cards. I had received 4 more letters stating the same thing as the first letter. 1st National will not get back in touch with me either. I had to settle on 3 of my cards, which has really messed up my credit.

I would say that this company is a complete fraud. I am not really sure if there is a way to get any of my money back, but would like to know about it, if there is.
