My name is Melissa Green, I live in Cincinnati, OH. Back in December of 2000, my husband recieved a call at work from a telemarketer from First National Credit Services, the telemarketer had stated that my husband had qualified for 2 credit cards with a 2500.00 limit on both, and that in order to recieve these cards, we had to pay a security deposit of 197.00, before my husband agreed to pay the security deposit, he asked twice if he would recieve these two cards, and they said yes, he would recieve them about 2 weeks after they recieved the security deposit, so my husband arranged for the security deposit to come electronically withdrawed from our savings account on January 6th 2001, so we waited, and waited for these credit cards, finally we called them about 3 weeks later, and they said that we should of recieved our product by now, and then they informed us that we should of recieved a package in the mail with coupons, and a list of credit card agencies that we could apply for a credit card through, and we might possibly get approved for credit cards, that infact they wasn't issuing the credit cards, just a list of the companies that we could possibly get a credit card through. Well of course we were furious that we had been totally misinformed, and infact would not of paid 197.00 for a package of information and some coupons, when we called them back and told them we wanted our money back, they said that they had my husband on tape, and he was told the correct information, when my husband listed to the tapes, the blanked out the part where they said that he would recieve the 2 credit cards. My husband told them to immediatly deposit our money back into our account, they said that we had to write a letter about our complaint, and have it notarized. We are in the process of these steps now, but why should we have to go through all of this, please anyone if you have a call from these people, say NO!! They are a big rip-off, I hope I have helped some people out there with my story. Sincerely, Melissa Green.

Hi there...I got a first national card in the mail a few days ago and it was similar to something that scammed me back in 1989. all these things are scams. to prove it to myself I went on line and found your site,. thank God your there it's too bad more people aren't aware of this nationally. i plan to write to them and cut the card up and in no uncertain terms are going to tell them to stay away. if i can help spead the word let me know. Same Rip-Off!!!!!

This company that this complaint is about, sounds like the same company I am in the process of filing a complaint on. They did the same to me, but the difference is that when I call them, I only get voice mail, and no resply phone call. This company I am dealing with promised me an unsecured Visa, with the payment of $199.00. They are also located in New York, but the address is different, and so are the phone numbers (I have 2 for them), and the names of the company I was given are "National Info. Svcs." and " National Credit Svcs." I have already filed a complaint with the BBB, and now going to the Attourney General. I either want my money back, or the credit card they agreed to give me.
