Florida Blue BCBS took money Florida

My health insurance was due to lapse at the end of the year. Because I suspected that I couldn't trust them, I did a chat session online with them to confirm that my policy would not be renewed at the beginning of the year. They confirmed it would not be renewed. I did a screen capture of that conversation (lesson learned here). Then the first of the year came along and sure enough they withdrew over $800 from my bank account. Of course I immediately contacted them (#1). They said they'd refund the money right away. It didn't arrive. I contacted them again (#2). They promised they'd refund it right away. It didn't arrive. This kept repeating for the next 2 months unitl I was up to the 7th time I had to contact them. They admitted that because I did the screen capture that they finally believed me. They finally refunded almost all of my money. They actually pro-rated part of the refund as if the policy had been issued and then I cancelled it. Be careful when working with Florida Blue.
