On November 19th, 2010, unknown to me, FPL removed my electric service because another customer requesting new service provided the wrong address.  Rather than contacting me, they went ahead and ordered the service disconnected from my name.  I recieved several bills following this and paid them, unaware they were final bills. I paid them on-line, on time.

I contacted FPL via email in early February when I realized I hadn't recieved a January bill.  They sent a standard reply letter thanking me for my recent correspondence.  I sent another email saying I hadn't recieved a bill and would they please check into it.  I then recieved an email that the service had been terminated as of 11/19/2010.  I replied that this was done in error as I had NOT requested service removal, that I was willing to pay the bill from January on, but would not pay the bill from the disconnection in error.

Well, they sent me a three month bill for services from October though February.  I called to request credit for services from the disconnect date through December 31, when I found the service had been turned off at the meter on the exterior of the condo - at the time, I was still unaware the service had been terminated.  I switched the service back on.  (Note: We live in a northern state and were down to open the unit for renters.)

I contacted customer service to request a credit for service billed in December that had not been used.  The charges were from November 23 through December 27.  Now, mind you, NO ONE was there and the service had been turned off, but I am still being billed for that time period.

Everyone I talked to said that they could not adjust the bill.  Apparently there must be some 'trickle' residual electric current that was being read on the meter.  It's a paltry amount - $16.73, but they refused to credit my account.  I suggested they at least give me a "Customer Relations" credit for the amount if they cannot credit for electricity used, and they still refused to do that.  In all their generosity, they did say that they would correct my credit rating.

All I want is credit for December billing ($ 16.73) for service that was disconnected in error but STILL billed to me.
