My husband and I went to Florida Sport and Recreation for a presentation in August 2009. The first comment by the sell person was "Do you have a timeshare". We told him we had two. They promised us they could sell the two timeshares that we owned so that we could buy into their travel discount plan.
We were told that the timeshares would be sold within three months. We questioned the time line and they promised that their person "Bill" could sell the timeshares within the three months. This was important because were to take the money from the sell of the timeshares and then purchase their plan from Florida Sport and Recreation to avoid having any payments with them and the extra money to pay other bills off.
We paid them $500.00 and had to send $198.00 to Worldwide Timeshares L.L.C. (Bill) for the sell of the timeshares. I haven't hear from or Florida Sport and Recreation only in the form that they have sent the account to Universal Accounting Servicing, LLC for the monthly payment of $179.32 that I am behind. We had three months before our first payment would be due no payment if the timeshares were sold.
We were hoping that this company was honest and fair since people today are having it hard. This company is dishonest and does not care about people, just the money. This company just takes advantage of people that are on hard times. Please help.

Timeshare Resale Scams

I was also contacted by them, claiming that they could sell my Royal Elite timeshare. The truth is, that ANY group that calls YOU is 99% certain to be an upfront fee company. What are those? A group that makes great sounding promises to rent/lease/sell/transfer/etc your timeshare or system membership points at a good to great price. They often claim to have a buyer or a renter or a group wanting space, etc - but then YOU have to pay to assure the process gets done. In reality that is all they really want - the upfront money paid by you and they can basically disappear (you'll hear nothing more from them & they will be very hard to impossible to reach) to go after the next victim.
DO NOT try to deal with them as it is a scam. Forget any "guarantees" as they are unenforceable (ask yourself what recourse you'd have if you couldn't reach them tomorrow or they simply never followed through with the promises made). Forget any protection from a credit or debit card. They have things set up so what you are promised meets the minimum requirements to assure they, not you, get paid.
DO NOT try to use them or you will be out whatever money they manage to get from you. THAT is a guarantee you can bank on unlike the meaningless, unenforceable one they are trying to lure you in with.
