last week my shift manager was contacted by someone at this company about a tax lien that doesnt even exist and she told the guy that taxes was not what she does but he insisted on asking questions and prying for information. Finally he gave up and left a very condescending message about good news. They didnt leave a name just a number so I called back to kindly ask to be taken off their telemarketing list.
the receptionist transferred me to somebody name Sam Crippy who identified himself as the "floor manager"
I told him I didnt want to divulge  my name or discuss any other personal information about myself or my business, but I did want my number added to the do not call list.
He then began repeating over and over MA'AM  HOW MUCH DO YOU OWE HOW MUCH DO YOU OWE.
i could not get a word in edgewise. When he finally shut up for a second i started to politely ask if this is how they do business and why would i ever consider hiring a company who employed management that behaved in such a way, but before I could he started it all over again.
I told him my next call would be to my husband who is a lawyer and he started to mock me saying "oh now your going to sue me" He told me good luck finding a judge to rule in favor of someone who doesnt pay taxes. And he told me that they would keep calling until I told them how much I owe. I was appalled and I hung up to call back and speak to the owner, when I called back,  of course the owner was conveniently "out of the office"

I have never owed the IRS anything and if this idiot sam would have composed himself long enough to listen to me he would have known he was not only wasting my time, but his own time too.
I have gotten several of these ambulance chaser calls for a company I bought the phone number for and none of them has treated me as rude as this place.

My husband contacted the California attorney general and I am also going to write a letter to the better business bureau detailing my interaction with this rude and obnoxious  scam company.
my advice to anyone reading this is to not take these peoples calls and contact the attorney general if they dont stop.

Fortress Apologizes for Employee Conduct

My name is Steve Galgoczy, and I am the President of Fortress Financial Services, Inc.  I realize that it is more than 2 years after the fact, but I became aware of this report recently and wish to respond.  First, I want to apologize for Sam's conduct.  The described conduct is unacceptable, and inconsistent with our company's policy of treating members of the public respectfully.  Senior management does not condone the described behavior.  Based upon other feedback (not this report), senior management became aware that Sam was telemarketing overzealously some time ago, and we took appropriate disciplinary action at that time.  It has been a very long time since we have fielded a complaint regarding Sam's telemarketing tactics, and I sincerely believe that he has changed his ways.  In fact, the most recent feedback I have received regarding Sam, is that he was wonderful to work with and the primary reason why a particular prospect decided to hire Fortress. 

While I believe that senior management's past issues with Sam have been resolved, I want to be clear with anyone who is reading this that Fortress requires its staff to treat the public with respect.  If anyone is contacted by one of our telemarketers and feels that he or she was mistreated, please report it to our Vice President, Michael Zacha, at (877) 777-7430 x868.  He will take prompt action to remedy the problem.  Alternatively, I may be contacted at x861.

 

I would also like to point out that, although it is not acceptable that Sam mistreated this complainant, the complainant was not ripped off.  This website appears to be a forum for reporting fraud, scams, and the like.  There was no fraud or scam involved in this complainant's report, which makes me question whether this site was the appropriate place to file this report.  Again, I am not condoning Sam's conduct, but I think that there is a pretty big difference between being "ticked off" and being "ripped off."  Fortress has represented thousands of clients over the last decade, and, from what I can tell, zero of them have ever gone to this website to report being ripped off.  On the contrary, we have an exceptionally high rate of satisfied (and oftentimes elated) clients.
