Fortress Financial taxfortress.com Charged $3250.00 on a fixed fee contract for specific services and failed to fulfill their obligation Bend Oregon

Financial Fortress claims on their website to offer a 100% Money Bank Guarantee. Don't be fooled. When I first approached Financial Fortress my liability with the IRS was flagged "uncollectable."  Then my situation changed and I wanted to head off agressive collection activities. Within a day of my inquiry with Finacial Fortress I was contacted and presented with an offer that they would represent me in all communcations with the IRS. All I asked for was their assistance in establishing an installment agreement. A Vice President of the firm said they would accept 3 payments over 3 months totalling $3250.00 for their services and in the contract stated it was a fixed fee agreement. 

I would receive emails from the assigned lawyer telling me he had made a phone call on my behalf as each payment to the firm became due. They tell you to go along with whatever they suggest and not to ask questions. All I requested was representation with the IRS in negotiating an installment agreement. Financial Fortress wanted to get penalties and interest reduced. In order to attempt this, I was asked to provide specific details that led to my delinqent position, which I did in the timeframe specified.  Nearly four months passed before I received any communication on what I had provided, and then I was told they couldn't present such poor excuses and hope for a positive outcome.

I expressed my frustration with the lack of effort on providing what I had asked from them, their poor efffort to do something I didn't ask for, and then "shaming" me. More time passed. Eleven months after engaging their services not one attempt had been made to initiate an installment agreement with the IRS. I then received a communcation from the assigned lawyer telling me that due to the extensive time and effort spent on my case, that I would have to pay and additional $2250 in order for them to continue working with me. At which point I formally revoked their representation and wrote both the lawyer and the Vice President telling them exactly why.

Finacial Fortress did nothing to earn the fees they collected beyond making a few calls to see if my case was still flagged uncollectible--which somehow entitled them to continue to do nothing. They never responded to my dissatisfcation or offer to correct their failings with the assignment of a different lawyer. They never stood by their "100% Money Back Guarantee." They never offered to return any of the money I paid. They never fulfilled the contract we had. Never even came close.
