I Have Never Heard of This Organization in Texas!
AUTHOR: Joe - (U.S.A.)

Members of my family have been in law enforcement for a very long time and we NEVER heard of this organization being here.
They might have opened an office here but they are much more common on the Eastern seaboard than they are in Texas.
They have a listing in the phone book but I don't know anyone who is a member and I don't think that it would necessarily be ethical for any law enforcement group to solicit donations on the telephone.
So, yes, they exist.
Do they solicit people for money legitimately, I have NO idea.
Of course, you always have the crooks who PRETEND to solicit for police organizations and departments and agencies.
ONE WAY TO KNOW FOR SURE IS TO FIND OUT WHAT ORGANIZATION THE TELEPHONE CALLER SAYS THEY ARE SOLICITING MONEY FOR AND THEN TO CALL THEM AT THE NUMBER YOU FIND IN THE PHONE BOOK. YOU HAVE A CALLER ID ON YOUR PHONE. WRITE THE NUMBER WHERE THE CALL ASKING FOR MONEY FOR POLICE IS COMING FROM AND LET THE POLICE HAVE IT.
TELL THE POLICE THAT YOU GOT A CALL AND VERIFY IF THEY WERE SOLICITING MONEY OR NOT AND IF THEY WERE NOT, GIVE THEM THE NUMBER AND TELL THEM WHAT YOU WERE TOLD BY THE PHONE SOLICITOR.
DO NOT GIVE ANY MONEY TO ANYBODY IF YOU DO NOT FIND OUT IF THEY ARE REALLY SOLICITING MONEY FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT! IF THEY ARE NOT, CALL THE POLICE AND REPORT THEM!
How easy is this?
