This company gave me a firm quote, then tried to change the change the class of the item. I called the manufacturer of the item and the manufacturer ships out the item everyday at class 55 yet frieghtquote disregarded by information and changed my class to 175 and doubled my bill.

What you should do immediately

As someone in the industry, here's what I would do. Call the manufacturer back and have them email you what class they ship it at and whether that is the true shipping clas (NMFC) or if its a FAK (contracted shipping class).

If their shipping class is for anyone to use, then use that as leverage against them for the re-class. Also the broker should file a re-class dispute with the carrier with evidence of the manufacturer showing what it should be.
