We started our loan process with gateway..loan office in sept.
The branch Mrg. joe Hall came out to meet us and seem professional at the time. We were honest about our credit history and he stated he could get it done. now four month after that meeting the nightmare came to an end becuase they pulled out and refused to loan us the money we needed for our new home. This is after getting an approval letter in person and everything. we called to complain to another branch office. they seem to not care about their customer service.

joe call me back and rudely stated that now the process will taken even longer( he would make sure that we would not be a high account on his books) and we missed with the wrong guy and branch. I explained to him that we have been waiting for 3 months at this time. His loan processer never calls back..his loan officer curses me out over the phone because we call him ..due to the fact that he would never follow up. Joe was the same abressive and never follows up.

We give them everything in a professional and timely manner. Showed our naked truth ..and they handel us like we were slaves. they pull out at the last moment and even gave the bluilder Richmond Amercian Homes misleanding infomation that the deal would close.

The bluider offered to testify in court on the conver. that accord before we good the heartbreaking news. They compnay has caused major stress to my life and family. I even took off work to take papers to there office and seat infornt of them since I could not get any call backs. most people would say just go to another leander..but we had given our orginal doc. of our whole life and were under timeframes with the bulider we had no other choice. Plus the branch manager stated he would get the loan finished.

they were careless and we were mistreated and discirmantied against due to our credit score. I have since requested a copy of the orginal doc. tax returns, car titles, signes doc.. to be return in the mail and tranferd but they have yet to call me back or honor my request. Joe Hall did not even call us back to let us know that he pulled the file and closes the loan applic. we did not even recv a reason for the credit denial letter. if anyone can offer help please do. i feel as if i am a victim of rape and the rapiest has gone free because he is rich anf powerful.

Interested in knowing if a GATEWAY Mortgage guy in Houston is also a GATEWAY Mortgage guy in VA?  There are some us in VA, SC, and VA that are also being scammed?

The truth is we my wife and I did pay all our bills on time so please end the false untrue information. GMC meet us at Royce builder in Katy and we were upfront about our credit because of mistakes we made in the past which everyone had if they experience a job lost. The only thing asked have we ever been late on our mortgage and we never were late not once.

I opted to pay my mortgage instead of a CC, so that is why the creditors were not paid. If GMC could not get us an approval why would they give us a projected closing date after Thanksgiving. We were packed and told we would need a certain amount for closing. If there is no approval then how do you get those numbers be it $5K or $6K.

We call the office and the phone calls were screened and not answered. You pack up your house and the builder is also expecting answers and no one returns your call, you would call too. I have more important things to do with my time than to wait on someone who can not get the job done. I could care less what Corey's background is, the fact is what GM did is what collapsed the economy and how a lot of people got into the foreclosure situation.

This not happening is a good thing because we found another company and we were approved, closed, and moved in 3 months. If someone else could do it, why couldn't GMC, because there was a lack of urgency and committment. I have no ill wil toward GMC but just being upfront about your abilities would be encouraged for your reps who say "they can get the loan done". When you say that expect follow-up and questions.

This is just too good.  (I am going to copy and paste what the Gateway rep wrote so he doesn't try to weasel out and say he never wrote it later.)


There is something called the Fair Credit Reporting Act, Gateway Mortgage Group! You can't go publicizing a person's credit score, rating, etc.  This lady never said she had poor credit, but you sure did.

She didn't give her last name, but you sure did.

She didn't disclose that she had gone to other lenders and was turned down, but you sure did.

I'd like to touch on the fact that the Gateway rep claimed Roberta called the office 15 times a day with the same question.  Exaggerate much? I really doubt Roberta, or anyone other than a lunatic, would call 15 times in one day only to ask the same exact question only to be ignored.  I do buy, however, that someone would call multiple times if that person felt ignored or helpless because he/she was being neglected or constantly strung along (sounds exactly like what happened to Roberta).

One of the sad things about this is that Roberta says you've kept her original loan documentation.  She certainly can't run out and apply for another loan in a timely fashion without proper documentation.  Yes, she can get duplicates, but that often takes TIME, which is something you stole from her. 

Also, you go on to talk about an ex-employee's so-called criminal past.  I'm not a lawyer, but I'm pretty sure that's a no-no, too.  (Plus, you named names!)

Gateway, thanks for killing several birds with one stone for me...  makes my job of showing the world that you are a company made up of cons and thieves.

We also had the opportunity to speak with Richmond Homes about the Bolden's claim. Richmond Homes indicated they had no intentions in testifying in court in the case of a declined loan. We have continued to do business with this builder.

I'm very sorry the Mrs. Bolden's did not appreciate our effort.

We really did work very hard to make her a home owner.

P.S.

We never gave Mrs. Bolden a Mortgage Approval.

The complaint from the former employee was due to a complete back ground check.

Corey Williams was released from gateway base on failure of criminal back ground check. He is current still unemployed."

After reviewing the reports filed by Roberta Bolden and Corey William I felt it would be in the best interest of Joe Hall and Gateway Mortgage Group to respond to each claim.

Roberta Bolden was informed in the very start of the lending process that her loan would be very difficult to complete. Mrs. Bolden had already been turned down by several lenders due to her extremely low credit scores. I went out to meet Mr. & Mrs. Bolden at a KB home site to review the opportunity to make a mortgage loan. After speaking with the builder's agent about the Bolden's situation we agreed to try and make the loan.

I am a former employee of Gateway Mortgage Group, LLC in Tulsa, OK.
I know more about this organization than I care to divulge, but, your comments about Joe Hall are quite specific, and not out of the norm.
Joe was a smooth-talker [read:snake-ish] in all of my dealings with him. He is all about him making $$ and not servicing the client. As a matter of fact, that's why he fits in so well with GMG, and why I didn't.
