I was contacted by text and email by Sam Parks telling me I was approved for a loan.

I had been attempting to get approval for a loan and guess he had informaiton from an application I had done online. He asked me to verify informaiton and address and funding and I was approved for a $5,000 dollar loan and after checking with his supervisor said my credit score was not in good shape so as a verfication I would need to let them deposit into my account and I would need to send it back and after that I would be funded because I would have been verified which off the bat did not make since to me.

I told him I would not do that and that it sounded like a scam and he then got angry and said he would take $200 from my account and then he would put all of my bank and ss# information on google publicly and that how would I feel about that?

He continued threatening me and telling me they will take it if I do not agree to let them do it the way they want to do it. After I hung up on him, I looked on rip off report and saw others that had been told the same thing. The only difference here is that I did not transfer money to a green dot card, but I am wondering will they be able to withdraw any money from my bank account if they know the number?

Here is the deal...

AUTHOR: Robert - (USA)

These people are scammers who deal in remaining "Under the Radar".  That is why they want you to send funds by some untraceable method.   They will do anything to remain anonymous.  As everything they told you is fake.  The company is fake(although it SOUNDS like the legitimate company).  They have "spoofed" the phone number they are calling from.  The names they gave you are fake.  The web site is fake.  And everything they have used is paid for with Stolen Credit Cards.  With the real kicker being that they are not even in the US, and why it is very hard to track down these people.  If you give it a month or two all of the contact information you have for them would no longer work.

If they REALLY wanted to get into your bank account and they were legitimate they would have you set up an EFT from your bank, not put it on some "Pre Paid" Debit card or a Money Gram.    Having them take money through the EFT opens them up to being traced to actual accounts and locations....the DO NOT want this.

Legitimate companies DO NOT threaten to put your information on Google if you don't send them money.  Legitimate companies DO NOT ask for any sort of "insurance" or "good faith" payments up front to guarantee a loan.

But I will give you the standard "spiel".  It is alway better to be safe than sorry, especially when it involves financial information.  If you have a reasonable suspicion that they have your bank account information it is best to contact your bank's fraud department and explain the situation.  As with enough information it is possible for them to withdraw funds.

Contact your bank

That is a very good question. There is no doubt that he was a scammer. GE Capital doesn't make small unsecured loans like the one he proposed to you.  If I were in your shoes, I would contact the bank and ask if he can access your accounts based on the information you provided to him. For absolute safety, you might have to change the accounts but your bank will know more.
