GE Money Bank - Care Credit Unfair to American Soldiers!! El Paso Texas

Last May, my son got lasik eye surgery so that the Army would accept him, he was too blind for glasses. He got the first bill from GE Money Bank, aka "Care Credit" within a week of the surgery. He made a few payments on the account, but I will admit they were sporadic. I talked to someone at Care Credit and explained that he was in the Army and even I couldn't contact him except for extreme emergencies. He did not have email access during this time either. This was in November.. Even before he was finished with Basic, I was able to set up his bank account to make regular payments. There were two regular automated payments to the account before the date of the letter of 3/29/09.

I have in front of me a letter from GE Money Bank which says they are closing his account AND reporting it to Equifax. The letter further states that the decision was based on his "entire credit history and not solely on your history with GE Money Bank".

That is a direct lie. He has no credit history. This is the only credit account he has ever had, therefore the decision IS based solely on his GE Money account.

I'm sad to think what our poor soldiers overseas must be having to deal with in taking care of their Stateside business. This is a nightmare, and my son isn't even overseas yet.
