I filed a claim with Geico claim # 0333017550101036  which was for a damaged roof which was caused by storm damage that removed seal patch areas and caused a water leak and damage to the walls and left exposed holes in my roof. Geico is claiming was from a lack of maintenance. I tried to explain to them and so did my dealer who was going to do the repair that the damage they are seeing in the photos is what was under the patches that were ripped off . I just purchased the motor home last may to transfer from Texas to Wisconsin. My wife and I lived in the motor home for over 3 months with no leaks, we had also used it on a number of occasions this year camping with our grand daughter with no leaks. Now its leaking and they wont repair it. I had been a long time supporter of Geico but will not be any longer. When a large company doesn't have to HONOR the customer who had been with them for years shows exactly how lage company feel about their customers. Still have pictures available to show for this report.

I am not trying to defraud anyone just stating the facts that the storm is what tore off the patches. My dealer even has a 2 year camper that had the complete roof torn off and even explained that to the insurance company so please get your facts together before you accuse someone of fraud. I work in a call center everyday hearing how things happen and if I can assist when its not the customers fault others can be expected to have to assist also. Thats why we pay our premeiums

A COMMENT COMES TO MIND

AUTHOR: Bubba Lee - (Canada)

POSTED: Friday, August 03, 2012

A comment comes to mind about your head, the rear most portion of your anatomy and a removal.

The patches on the roof of your RV are not normal.

The patches on the roof of your RV were not installed correctly or they would not have blown, pulled, jack hammered or been able to have been removed short of removing the entire roof.

The poor installation of these patches and lack of monitoring are the poor maintenance of the roof, the fact you didn't know they were loose and leaking is neglect.

There is no storm on the planet that did not actually submerge the unit that could do significant water damage through the pictured damage in less than months.

So stop trying to defraud the insurance company and move on. You will be a happier and less incarcerated person.

A semi Respectful suggestion from a RV industry insider.
