If you are insured with GEICO and have an accident GEICO will enter into secret deals with the other party. They make the claim that what they do so on your behalf and the deal is not disclosable to you because of "Federal and State Privacy Laws". But when challenged them to state which laws, they will not say what laws, only that you have to look it up yourself. This secret disclosure is not in the policy.
GEICO also will determine that you are at fault without looking at the police report which says "No Fault".
The reason GEICO does this is so they can charge you a deductable even if it is not your fault.
Okay they might have some good commercials and ads, but are you sure you can trust them?

Every state has some form of a Fair Claims Practices Act in place. It may be called something different state to state.
For a deductable, every policy in every state has one. It is NOT a secret deal just to charge you one.
In addition, if you read your policy carefully, it does state that you are entitled to be informed about every aspect of a pending claim. Federal Laws do NOT bar that right.
When you are in an accident, you are paid the value of the damages, less the deductable. The insurance company will then make a claim against the person at fault-called the Tort Feasor-to recover the monies they have paid out, Including your deductable-it says so in your policy. If they collect all the money back, you will get your deductable. If they get say 80% back, you will get back 80% of your deductable.
You can buy insurance without a deductable-some companies will do that-BUT your premium will be WAY higher.
Isuggest you contact you State Insurance Department for a copy of your states Fair Claims Practices Act.
