Here we are in 2016 and GE & Home Depot may still be up to the same old tricks reported by Tyler in 2012!

In 2014, a GE Dishwasher Model GDT580SSFSS was purchased for me (by another) at Home Depot.  It was installed in my home and washed dishes OK after I compensated for having a tankless hot water heater by running hot water at the tap before every fill (not just before the first fill).  However, the door was very difficult to close (kept popping open when I shut it).

Had GE Repair out a couple of times and they found "no problem" with the door.  Another party checked it out and found the frame of the Dishwasher was bent (and had been all along), which was causing the door issue.  Luckily, the appliance was still under Warranty.  In July of 2015, Home Depot arranged for GE to exchange the "damaged" Dishwasher for a brand new one, but it was replaced with a different Model, PDT750SSFSS.  I was told that I was getting an "upgrade."

New Dishwasher has never cleaned my glassware properly (comes out covered with film) even though I run hot water at tap before every fill, add vinegar to every "wash" cycle, keep Rinse Aid dispenser full at all times, and use "top of the line" detergent.  Have had GE Repair out three times for this issue.  Last Service Call the repairman confirmed (via computer readout) the water to my Dishwasher was hot enough, so he had no explanation for why glassware is always covered with film.  (When I scheduled the appointment, I had requested the Repairman bring the clear door that permit observing if spray arms are covering adequately, but he showed up without it).  His computer did detect that my Rinse Aid Sensor is "bad" but he did not report it in his notes to GE .... telling me he was "going to request that GE Consumer Relations contact me to discuss replacing the Dishwasher again (with the Model I had originally), and he did not want to initiate a repair request if the appliance was going to be replaced."  When I had not heard from GE after four days, I called Consumer Relations and was told that what the Repairman had actually put in his notes was that my Dishwasher is "working as it was designed to" and no follow-up was required!  Then I was told that I needed to schedule another Service Call to diagnose the Rinse Aid Sensor was "bad" before GE will schedule the the repair!

Called Home Depot Customer Care (as Seller of the Dishwasher) to ask if they could assist me.  Was told I have to work it out with GE since the appliance is still under Warranty.

Deplorable that these Companies teat customers this way!!
