#1 Consumer Suggestion
your first mistake was buying from GEX.
AUTHOR: Bruce - (U.S.A.)

Well, your first mistake was buying from GEX. But, the price is good and they really hype there "quality", so, unless you have dealt with them before, I can't really fault you there.
There "warranty" is a joke. Even with proof of purchase, you have a battle ahead of you to get them to cover anything.
Do YOU have any proof of purchase? Credit Card slips, canceled checks, statements, bills, names and dates... etc. You will need to prove to them that it is there engine.
How long ago did you buy it and who put it in?
After you find your proof of purchase, take it to a VW shop. I don't mean a dealer, but a place that does old VW's. Tell them what is going on. After they have a heart laugh about the GEX engine (and they will), they will likely be able to help you out.
I hope this helps, if there is anything else I can do,post your question below and I will respond so everyone can benefit..
