We've been to golden corral many times, and also have had problems with the quality of the food sometimes, bad service- at different locations. However, this time, it was that these people do not care about customers at all- unlike most restaurants, which have some respect for customers to an extent, this place is awful and has no respect for anyone. We went to GC about 35 minutes before closing, and they had changed their time anyway. They said they would let people stay 15 minutes after closing, then kick people out. A little surprised, we figured, they were just saying that, as most normal restaurants generally let people stay at least an hour after closing, a minimum at least 30 minutes. This place was different though- the rude managers, began telling the cooks to take away the food at exactly the time she stated she would. And 15 minutes after they closed, they began kickign customers out- for no reason at all- not even letting them stay, finishing their food- it was absurd and such horrid customer service...The managers were hovering over tables telling people to leave...15 minutes after closing? ridiculous...our table wasn't done and we had to rush and then just leave with all our plates sitting there...half eaten and not compeltely done. Every minute seemed to count there and it was run in a dictatorial way with people who were either jerks, on powertrips or had no concern or care for customer service or customers...even when asking the manager 'rudely' said "oh NO, we WILL have you leave by this time." as if it was a crime or wrong to stay longer...or allow people to stay longer...I've never witnessed a restaurant with such bad ridiculous customer service and in this way. I can understand getting people to leave an hour after closing time- that makes sense...but 15 minutes making people get up...they acted like they had no other choice....which I doubt was the case at all....whta kind of restaurant is run this way and what kind of people run it like this...just really bad.. just beware of this restaurant becaues the management at golden corral always seems to be really bad..and sometimes you just get the absolutely worst management possible, with people who run it in the most absurd way possible....no place needs to be running customers out 15 minutes after closing with uneaten food when they're not even close to done..this has to be one of the worst places ive heard of in a restaurant...with the worst service..terrible place beware...

As a former employee in the restaurant/retail business, I can tell you, people like you suck. How would you like it if you were working and had to stay open an hour later because some a*hole came in late to eat?! Shame on you for assuming a company will cater to you that way! You knew what time they closed, yet you went there anyway. Very rude on your part! No ripoff here.

Sorry..still not a RipOff.
I think I can picture the type of customer you are. I would bet that you have never run a business, let alone one in the "service" industry.
I would guess that you are not the easiest customer either. Do you request your steak to be cooked to a specific temperature. Then when they bring it do you use your pocket thermometer and if it is 1/2 a degree above what you wanted do you send it back for being overcooked?
If the waitress/waiter does not bring you your soda refill as soon as you take your last sip of the current glass are you standing up screaming for the manager?
If you are told you have to wait 15 minutes for a table, do you go to the hostess at 16 minutes and expect to be seated right then and there?
If you see one thing out of place or not up to YOUR satisfaction do you complain until they "comp" your meal.
The kicker of this entire "report" is that you say this place has bad service, bad food, and when you arrived they said that you had to leave 15 minutes after closing. Yet you STILL decided to eat there.

You are a jerk! I worked in a restaurant while working on my second College Degree and let me tell you how it goes
1. Waitstaff has to refill all condiments, sweep, mop and prepare the tables for the next business day
2. Kitchen staff also has to prepare for the next business day ie: putting up food, taking dirty dishes and such to be cleaned
3. Cleaning people have to make sure all items are clean, put up and ready for the next business day
4. Managers have to count the monies, put together the card receipts together along with the sales tally and put it in a safe for the bookkeeper
And THAT is just what I remember - have some respect for the people who work there - they are tired, want to go home, relax, spend time with their families etc etc.
Walk in their shoes for once - don't like it? Eat at Mickey Dees

How rude of YOU !!!!! Just who do you think you are, that you expect people to work long after their shift ends just to wait on YOU ????? You have got to be the most self-centered cretin I have ever had the displeasure to encounter.

"as most normal restaurants generally let people stay at least an hour after closing"
That would be news to me. You are apparently having difficulty understanding the concept of "closing". That means you have to leave so the people who have been working all day can clean up and go home. Expecting them to hang around for an hour after closing is unreasonable. Perhaps you should order you food "to go" if you're going to show up that late.

yes of coures its a ripoff--technically a restaurant..CAN kick a person out if they want...any place can...but realistically, no restaurant does this...ive been to 100's of restaurants in my life and no restaurant ive ever been to has ridiculously kicked people out 15 minutes after they close...none...most restaurants will generally let people stay at least an hour, at the very least 30 minutes...if this was common practice, most restaurants would be having problems...restaurants do not have these kind of stringent rules and treat people this way... this is a ripoff and bad service...and its really bad treatment...most places don't let people enter 15 minutes prior to closing and some will until the time of closing but let people stay and finish their meals....it's a ripoff and bad treatment to kick people out 15 mins after closing ive been to places where people say "dont worry they wont kick u out" as if they would never do that...this is a bad place run by bad management...if you agree with it, that's your problem, you have no standards apparently and arent' too smart either...there are no reason for these kind of rules unless people or someone just 'has' to leave b ya certain time..and if someone does, they shouldn't be managing a restaurant...customer always comes first, and kicking people out in the middle of their meals, to me is abusive treatment...and very mean...and very bad service on their part

They should kick you out. It is extremely rude to go into a restaurant shortly before they close expecting the staff to sit there for an hour after their shift to take care of you. Did it dawn on you these have been working all day just like you and want to go home after their shift? How would you like it if you were working all day and your boss came over and said you have to work an extra hour to hour and a half when you expected to go home at a certain time? Keep in mind these people (waitresses) work at LESS than mimimum wage most of the time and have to put a fake smile on there faces to wait on your selfish butt. Did it dawn on you that maybe some of these people have day care to pay for???? While you sit there drinking and having fun these poor people have to pay for overtime to their babysitters while making pennies and God Forbid they dont smile and you dont leave a tip. You are selfish. Go there in plenty of time for them to leave at closing time. If you dont, dont expect "customer service"

- No, there was a reason..they were CLOSED. Not only that but when you arrived that is what they said they would do, yet you decided to stay anyways.
So where is the RipOff?

What time did this restaurant close? It is hard to tell if the management is unreasonable without knowing the actual time of closing.
