Do not use Good Team Movers!!!!!!!!

Our daughter recently graduated from college and found a job in North Carolina.  She needed to move rather quickly from our home in PA to NC and we had no time to pack and move her items on our own.

After contacting numerous moving companies, we selected Good Team Movers based on their promise to deliver her items in a few days.  We were scheduled to have the items picked up on a Wednesday evening for Saturday delivery.

They movers never came on Wednesday (8/29/12), when we called, we wer told that we would receive a call the next morning to make arrangements for the pick up.  The movers called on Thursday late morning to say that they were an hour from our home.  Both my husband and myself were at work and could not get home.  We were told that since we were not available that we would lose our $350 deposit.

I called and tried to have the situation rectified.  I was promised that the movers would be at our house on Sunday (9/2/12) and would deliver to our daughter on Tuesday or Wednesday (9/4 or 9/5) evening.  The movers came at 8:00 pm on Sunday.  I called on Tuesday to see when our daughter's items would be delivered.  To my surprise, the delivery was changed to Friday or Saturday (9/7 or 9/8).

On Saturday, our daughter had not received her items and I called the movers.  I was told that the truck with her items had broken down and that they wer trying to get it fixed.  When I asked to speak with the owner of the company or someone above Mike, I was told that I was the most difficult client that he ever worked with.  He then explained that by law he can keep our items for 30 days and charge us extra if we are not available when they come to deliver the items.

On Monday (9/10), I rceived a call from Mike.  He apologized for his behavior on Saturday and promised to have our daughter's items delivered on Tuesday evening between 6 - 10 pm (it  appears that our items were not in a broken down truck (so who knows where they were?) as we were told).

Our daughter received a call that the movers would be there between 8 - 10 pm, then they called to say they would be there around 11 pm, then hey called and said they would be there around 1 am.  They actually showed up to her apartment at 2am and were there until 3:30 am unloading the truck.  Many of her items were broken and damaged, and the furniture was banged and dented.

So, what should have been a 3 day delivery ended up taking almost 2 weeks!  I did call an attorney's office for advice.  I wanted to share with everyone in case you experience the same situation - the movers are not permitted to hold your items, if they do, you can call your local police and report that your items have been stolen.  If you are having any issues, it was recommended that the police should be notified when the delivery is being made so that if anything is damaged you can file a police report.
