Beware of this private Christian University.

I enrolled in GCU Online to obtain my bachelors degree.  I was told by my financial aid counselor that my refund amount would be $2,000 for my living expenses.  This money never arrived and I could not get financial aid to return my calls or emails.  I then contacted my adviser to see what is going on with this.  My adviser told me I would be getting a $1,200. stipend as they call a refund.  She told me the check had not fully processed and she would get on it for me.  She did not return my email or calls either.  I spoke to a random financial aid counselor who told me i get $0.  I was outraged as I planned bills around this and now was empty handed.  I left messages for several managers and none have called me back as of this posting.  Now they will not let me withdraw without paying for the current class and won't contact me.  I'm not sure who to complain to next but it seems these schools can do whatever they want.  I am also considering litigation against them for unfair financial practices and am looking for an attorney to take the case.

Tehy made it right!

AUTHOR: Jerry H. - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, October 01, 2012

After calling and leaving multiple messages as well as this report, they made it right.  My financial aid advisor took full responsibiliy for the information I was given.  An overlapping term at another school had caused this to occur but was not including in the potential aid.

They are going to make sure I have no out of pocket expenses for the rest of the financial aid year.  That was above and beyond what I expected to occur.

It is rare that someone will be accountable like that and I give them high praise for this.
