****MOTHERS PLEASE BEWARE OF HAIR DRESSERS TAKING REVENGE ON BEAUTIFUL GIRLS******My daughter went to get her hair dyed to her natural color and highlighted, with light blonde streaks. (She swims as a life guard and swims daily with the Olympic Gold Medalists, that live in our condo, on a daily basis, her hair color needs to be toned, due to chlorine damage.) Her natural color is blonde. They colored her hair dark brown and frosted her hair. Major contradiction to what she had asked for. She is only 14 years old. My daughter was devastated. She asked me to help her resolve the horrible problem. We went back, first thing in the morning to resolve the issue away from cliental. However the Manager Rona Bunch. Was very rude and very un willing to provide a resolve. I let her know that her affiliates were more then happy to help fix her mess. As I had 5 Color Senior Specialist. From JC Pennies, Dillard's, and other Regis Hair Salons. Hair Plus is owned by REGIS.

Since the Manager at HAIR PLUS was so mean vicious and rude, unwilling to fix her mistakes and take charge and responsibility for her mistakes and actions. She played off to her Superiors that the CUSTOMER IS WRONG!!! WOW!!! Not nice. We called REGIS and complained about the service. My daughter did not get what she asked for, infact what she did receive was a bill for 125.00, a frosting instead of a highlight, a dark color instead of her natural color.

REGIS said they would return our money of 125.00. Well, we have never received this money. They never offered the charges of repairing her hair. We went to JC Pennies and spent an additional 150.00 to fix her hair. They definitely are not to be trusted. Especially since many of my colleagues have always had bad service from HAIR PLUS IN THE FLORIDA MALL.

Wow Shawonga!

AUTHOR: Darren - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, June 02, 2004

Hi Stacie,
Gee, I think you have this Shawonga character pretty much nailed! If I am not mistaken (which I am not) there has even been a report created just to cover her and all of her aliases.

Now I can see why. This woman/man (I will assume woman) has a chip on her shoulder that is so large it is unbelievable that she can get through a standard sized doorway.

Shawonga, I am sorry that you are not beautiful enough to be considered one of the "pretty people" but please, don't let that make you bitter. Most of us are not and we get along just fine. We don't need to hurt others, with words or with a pair of scissors in their eye.

There is professional help and medication available for help that can work miracles for someone with your personality disorder.

If you can not affort it, you might go to an emergency room and let them know that you are thinking of hurting yourself or someone else. This should allow them to get you in for observation, medication and maybe some help for you.

Especially if you work with the public, the above suggestion is highly suggested.

I really do believe that it would give you more relief than coming online and spewing such nasty hatred towards people that you don't know.

Yes, I don't know you, but as a caring and compassionate person, I hope that you get help and find a productive and meaningful way to deal with all the bitterness and pain in your life.

If you must use this website as a venue for self-medicating yourself then I understand. It is much easier to wallow in the suffering than to take the steps required to grow up and deal with issues and self examination.

To the mother, regardless of anything, if my daughter had a problem with a hairdresser I would also expect the hairdresser to deal with me professionally. I am sorry that you and your daughter didn't seem to have that experience.

Remember, customer service is useless if it doesn't serve the customer!

My experiences with this salon... never been so humiliated in my life

AUTHOR: Bradley - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, June 02, 2004

I too have issues with this place...

I was in there and a female was "giving me a trim". I am quite f'n sexy and the whole time this chick was really checkin me out. I was sure she was gonna do something because she kept rambling on about her boring homelife and staring at my bulge. (Yes she left my crotch uncovered just so she could steal some peeks).

Well anyway before the haircut was over sure enough she grabbed a big handful of bulge. She tried to make it look like an accident by dropping the comb there but I knew what she was up to.

I have never been so humiliated in my life... I mean it wasnt enough that she kept rubbing her crotch and breasts on my elbows and shoulders but then she just grabs my privates...at least the haircut turned out alright.

"Highlights" ARE different to non-stylists

AUTHOR: Melissa - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, June 01, 2004

I am not a stylist, but my mother has been for the past 35 years of so, so i've learned quite a bit from her...especially when it comes to color since i've had mine done for the past 18 years by no one but her.

To the general public a highlight is done with bottle color, not powder bleach. The color is streaked through the hair...as much or as little as wanted to achieve the desired results.

I do agree that the hair should have been in better shape if they were going to have chemical put on it...but they still didn't get what they asked for!!! Blonde is VERY different than brown!!!

Frost or Highlight? ..stylist should have known that the results could have come out unfavorable and consulted you about the possability..

AUTHOR: Sheila - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, October 01, 2003

FYI... a frost and a highlight are the same thing. IE: Blond streaks or what ever color the client chooses.

The stylist should have never put chemicals in her hair!! period... The key word here is DAMAGE that is what the clorine in pools does to your hair.

Clorine is a mineral that encases the hair shaft causing the damage ( brittle, dry, tangles easy when wet)There are some shampoos and treatment on the market that help to remove the clorine from the hair but they never really get it all out, they can control the green cast however.
The only thing I know of to keep it out is Joico Phine.

Apply a small amount to damp hair befor going into the pool, the clorine is attracted to the phine and shampooed out keeping it off your hair in the first place.

When you use chemicals like perm or color on pool hair the chemicals interact with the mineral coating on the hair swelling the hair shaft and creating more damage (frizzy, breaking, dry, streachy mushy hair.

Also color can not penatrate and process correctly and you end up with patchy uneven or darker results than the same formula used on someone with out clorine damage.

Bottom line is the stylist should have known that the results could have come out unfavorable and consulted you about the possability..
In my salon I would have said no.
I think it is actually worse than perming over sunin..... and thats also a big no no...
Just thought I would add my 2 cents worth

Do more investigating

AUTHOR: Jamie - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, September 30, 2003

I was looking for haircut in Central Florida..
Sorry to hear about your mishap. My suggeation is to just get a haircut at new place. While your hair is being cut watch the other clients and see what activities are being performed. Do more investigating before having major task performed.

For the Jerk who likes to attack innocent victims

AUTHOR: Staci - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, May 07, 2003

do you have a life shawonga .. i've seen your posts in many complaint categories and in every single one you're attempting to mock the victim and stick up for the abuser... what are you-- the devil himself? Either that or just a bored bitter loser with no life and nothing better to do than spend your day attacking people who have been victimized ... you are truly a disgusting pathetic thing.

Pretty young girl?? Oh puh-leeeease!!!

AUTHOR: Shawonga - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, May 06, 2003

Perhaps he DID have a reason to seem annoyed while cutting your pretty little head. Perhaps you with your "pretty young girl" and "very attractive" attitude annoyed him and got on his nerves so badly he could not wait for the moment that the haircut was complete so you could flounce your pretty young arse out of his store! Anyone with such a high and riteous attitude as yours could get on anybody's nerves! Next time try to control your self-centered behavior and act more human, and perhaps your hairdresser will not have to stab you in the eye with some scissors to give you a hint!

I agree 100%-- had a similar experience

AUTHOR: Jennifer - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, May 05, 2003

wow.. it's surprising to hear someone else talk about something which I've felt and experienced in many situations-- particularly one with hair plus in the Fashion Sq mall. I made an appt with them and a male was cutting my hair. I am an attractive female and he was acting very strange about my presence.

The whole time he was cutting my hair he kept rolling his eyes and had a really bad attitude with me for no reason. He kept staring over at all his other colleagues sort of like he felt uncomfortable or annoyed doing my hair.

I had a very strange feeling that he might do something to me because he seemed to have all this anger built up for no reason and I was right. Towards the end of my hair cut, he "accidentally" (yeah right) Hit me in the eye with his scissors. I am almost certain it was done on purpose.. he barely apologized about it and right after he hit me in the eye (released all his unjustified anger towards me) he IMMEDIATELY became really nice. He was then complimenting me on my hair and just seemed very RELIEVED for some strange reason. I was upset about the situation after I left because it hurt where he hit me, and I had to end up seeing an eye doctor about it.

I think they ended up giving me a refund after I called and complained about it -- but it was very obvious that particular hair stylist had a major problem with me for no reason except that I'm a pretty young girl. Beware of this place and EVERY other regis salon--- they are the EXACT same way and will do whatever they can to sabotage or mess up people's haircuts or do something to them for no reason--
