There is not a lower rating I could give this hotel. While in town for a family funeral, our room was broken into by a man who had close connections to the hotel.
My wife's wallet was stolen from our room after we went to the pool. We called down to the front desk to ask about pool hours and after housekeeping left our room, we were cleaned out. Just a short trip to swim with our little girls to take their minds off the death of a loved one and we come back to find Hampton Inn had aided in victimizing us.
The management took weeks to respond and never issued so much as an apology. Hilton brands took little interest in this.
I would never stay here again and cannot issue a higher warning about avoiding this place.

We know it was a man because he was arrested. There is a police report and a mug shot. It was the police detective that notfied us of his connection to the hotel.
Of course we know it was stolen from our room. To suggest otherwise is absurb. My wife's wallet was in her purse. We used it to check into the hotel and it was in her purse, which was in our room.
On a Sunday morning we called to the front desk to inquire about the pool hours. The clerk said she would go open the pool immediately for us to go to it (however when we got downstairs and saw the posted hours, the pool had already been open for two hours prior to our call).
On our way to the pool, we noticed housekeeping waiting at the end of the hall and that person came to our room after we left (as evident by the made bed and new towels). The housekeeper also admitted to being in the room.
We were gone less than 90 minutes and according to credit card records the unauthorized purchases began just a few minutes before we returned to the room.
The police are the ones who say the thief was connected to a larger ring and had close ties to the hotel. The wallet and purse were undoubtadly in our room. There was also a truck stolen from the hotel at the exact same time as the wallet was stolen.

“our room was broken into by a man who had close connections to the hotel”
How do you know the culprit was a man? How do you know the culprit had close connections to the hotel?
“after housekeeping left our room, we were cleaned out”
How can you be sure the wallet wasn’t stolen before housekeeping arrived?
Were there any witnesses?
