Handyman Club Of America Collections Harrassments, and Fraud on their Membership Club Dues! Ridiculous! ripoff Minnetonka Minnesota

It is totally ridiculous what i am having to do to get rid of these fools!
i was offered a membership to try out their free tools and stuff and recieve a magazine every month and never thought a second thought of it.

I figured if I did not pay the membership fees like with everything else. there was no contractual agreements signed or anything, so if I did not pay i would not get any further grief.

Well I tried to pay it, on my debit card, it was sent back to me refused. So I said to heck with it.

A few weeks later we recieved a magazine. I thought okay that is nice of them. Then thought it would stop there.
NOPE! It did not!

I then get a letter that I NEED to pay the 24.00 dollars for membership dues.

I am like i NEED to? No I don't need to. So I wrote them a letter telling them for what am I paying on? I did not recieve anything more then a simple magazine?

So, got no answer. Next thing I know I am being told a month later that my account will be put into collections if I don't pay. I went off. I wrote them again!
Well today July 16, 2007 I get another letter stating if it is not paid immediately that I will be put into collections! period!

That they sent me a membership kit that I owe them for! I am like the magazine was a membership kit?! What a joke!

So now I am at a point of now reporting them to the BBB which I have done and now on here as well.

I hope more people read this BEFORE they join this company and I am rather happy they did not get my debit card, as I read another complaint that regardless of what you send them they do NOT cancel the membership fees every year EVER! They just happily keep collecting them! What a scam!

I am sorry if you don't pay for your membership to a magazine, they don't come after you, they stop sending the magazines!

IF you cancel the subscription to the magazine it is cancelled! What is the difference with this? IT is a subscription nothing more for a year! For a magazine and maybe some stuff to try out big deal!

I hope that reporting this will make a difference, somehow they have an EXCELLENT RATING with the BBB go figure that one, if nothing comes of this complaint and BBB's then I am going to further this by taking it to Authourities responsible for businesses in Minnetonka MN.

People let me tell you now STAY AWAY FROM THEM! They are a pure ripoff and scam!
