Health Care Solutions Tried to get my checking acct info for automatic insurance monthly withdrawals Miami Florida
*Consumer Comment: Bank information
*Consumer Comment: No need for bank info
*Consumer Suggestion: Bank information
Received fax flyer from Company called Health Care Solutions. Medical plan is too good to be true. They claim to not have any website in order to "save money and pass the savings along to the consumer". They just want an application with my checking acct number since they have to automatically debit checking accounts. They claim to set up a consumer with an A rated insurance company but wont give info on who. Looked up rip off report on this company and found all the scams listed. Their phone number given on the flyer is 888-245-2324.

Bank information

As the original poster stated: they just wanted me to fill out an application that would include banking information. That is standard procedure, if you want to get health insurance the process is to fill out an application. On the application there are sections for medical history and banking information which is needed to process the application. If there is an omission of either of these the process halts, and no further action is taken until the application is complete.
It sounds like an issue of miscommunication on the part of the broker and the client more than anything else. What the broker should have expressed is, if you find a plan you like and want to pursue coverage with that carrier then what we need to have happen next is an application has to be completed, which would include your medical history and banking information so the carrier knows where to draw premium once the policy is issued. Maybe the broker was not too clear on this and spooked the client.
If communicated properly this shouldn't be a problem.

I would think it would be up to the purchaser to provide bank account info only if they want to have the coverage from that carrier.
I don't know about you but it does seem extremely shady to provide bank info before the decision to purchase is made.

Healthcare Solutions Team is an independent broker representing several top tier health insurance companies. What they do is, after consulting with you try to figure out which carrier and plan works best to fit your particular situation and budget. And at no additional cost, the premiums are exactly the same if you wing it and go it alone.
Part of the process in trying to acquire health insurance is filling out and application. Basically what this involves is answering about 20 medical history questions and then including banking information so the carrier can draw a premium if and only if you are accepted and offered coverage. It is the insurance carrier that requires this information in order to go forward with the process. HST does not keep or store financial information on any of it's clients. And the secure servers on which you would apply for coverage are safe and never compromised. So in essence, the broker was asking banking information in order to facilitate the process for the insurance carrier in which you were interested in applying for coverage. There was nothing unusual going on here and it is done across the board with all lines of insurance coverage and any agency.
I hope this helps to clear up any misconception and enlighten you on how the application process works.
