#1 Consumer Suggestion
Don't wait to pursue this!

I would strongly encourage you to contact an attorney for a consultation. If you can't afford this, I know there are some attorneys who offer a free initial consultation.
Next, I would advise filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. You can go to the BBB's website bbb.com, and do a search for Hess Kennedy in Florida. There is a link at the top of the page that lets you file complaints online.
Then, I would file complaints with the Attorney General in your state and in Florida. If you go onto the state websites, they most likely will have an option to file a consumer complaint online.
I signed up with Hess Kennedy this past summer and after the payments began coming out of my bank account each month, I never heard another word from them. Emails were unanswered, or when I did receive a reply, it was a very vague and condescending reply that did not answer my query. I started calling the office and would be put on hold for periods ranging from 45 minutes to over an hour, all the while being charged at long distance rates. After holding all of that time, I would be hung up on before ever speaking to anyone about my file.
I finally terminated their services after the first of this year and requested a refund of the money in my settlement account. I never got a response and certainly haven't received my money back. I sent emails, faxes and letters to no avail, and again, my calls were not taken. I finally filed complaints with the above agencies.
I received a supposed response from Hess Kennedy to the BBB regarding my complaint. Their "Compliance Officer" stated that the credit counseling agency (CCC of America) who referred me to Hess Kennedy gave me incorrect information regarding their services. The response claims that services were performed by lawyers and paralegals on my account, but as a gesture of goodwill, they would issue a full refund.
I'm still waiting!!
