I sure wish I had checked into this site or others like it, there are many others in my position.DO NOT BUY FROM Hifisoundconnection, They have my money and many others, for an item( car stereo) they had claimed to have 54 available and only two purchases showing on the auction on ebay April 29, 2008, I paid April 30, would have paid April 29 but awaited an invoice with combined shipping. Their site claimed combined shipping to save you money, well that is only if you buy more than one of the exact same item. Ok no problem I did even worry about this.
After one week of waiting I emailed for tracking info and was informed the item was out of stock and I could get an in store credit or continue to hold on back order. So May 12, I get an email stating my complete order will go out by the end of the week, this is after I filed dispute, well May 20 I get two out of the three items, The most expensive item approx $300 dollar one is still on backorder and they will not refund my money they say unless I drop the dispute, but I can not re-open dispute if I drop it, and if I drop it, it appears as if they have taken care of the problem which they have not. Go ahead and try calling their customer service line, or should I say out of service line. No one is ever available, they do not return phone calls , their email responses to questions and concerns are vague and incomplete.
It is easy to see how they (Chris and Lisa Rush) CEO's have become millionaires on ebay they do it by holding on to many peoples money without providing the products advertised. Even though the economy is tuff right now, that money in a bank account or money market still earns interest. They have 47 NEGATIVES this month alone, figure that out, 47 times lets say $300 that is almost $15000 that they can stuff in their account and draw interest while they stall you with emails till you file a dispute in hopes that in 30 days your money will be returned to you.
BUYERS BEWARE Try contacting them. Better yet google hifisoundconnection and view how many unhappy customers they have with same/similar experience as me.
You know I bought the item as a gift for my 16 year old's surprise party, for her first car, now I have to present her the car with the dashboard disassembled awaiting a refund so that I can start the purchase all over again with a reputable company. If I buy another now , then they will probably finally come through after a month with the product but I'm not holding my breath, they are sure holding my money.
Even to this day they are still advertising the item for sale on their website, the item is an Alpine CDA-9887 here is a link to it http://www.hifisoundconnection.com/Shop/Control/Product/fp/vpid/4969150/vpcsid/0/SFV/30046/sret/14213182152162231617282213218283214231286217218223290223226227296225228239228231246245230245244243238

Buyers beware, this company pulls this scam again and again advertising things they don't have to sell and offers in store credit, that might be fine if you were shopping for any old deck or speaker but not if you shopped for a specific item. So anyhow they got to make use of my money from April 29th to May 27 until paypal fixed the situation for me. I just wish someone would see to it that this business is shutdown so that they can't continue to take advantage of people in this manner, as you can see if you google their name or look at the feedback on ebay I am not the first person they have done this to.
