HIKO Energy HIKO Energy LLC Predatory salesman promised this senior citizen a savings on electric bill actually increased it by 200% Monsey New York

I am a 70+ year old women. HIKO sales reps hounded me with phone calls and visits selling their service which they claimed would save me money on my electric bill until I relented and agreed. I have two NYSEG accounts which I switched over to HIKO for the promised savings.  Fast forward to December 2013.

I call NYSEG to inquire about my high electric bills and they inform me that NYSEG currently (12.13) charges 5.5 cents per kwh and the highest their rate has been in the past year was 7 cents per kwh. HIKO is currently charging me 15 cents per kwh, almost 3 times or 200% more than NYSEG.

The result of this outrageous rate for November's bills: $90 with HIKO, which would have been $30 with NYSEG and for my account which i use electric for hot water, cooking, & heat - $800 with HIKO which would have been $285 with NYSEG. RIPPED OFF is how I feel. A HIKO service rep told me flat out that they will not make any adjustments to my bill.
