I bought my car, a 2001 Honda Civic EX from Holmes Motors in May of 2006. The car was sold to me with illegal window tint, 3 different size tires from various manufacturers, and a seat belt buckle that didn't work. The power steering was also damaged on the vehicle from a previous owner.
I contacted Holmes Motors about getting the window tint removed but their service department was always unavailable or I was put on hold for extended periods of time never getting through. Eventually, I had to remove the tint MYSELF!
When I found out the tires were all different sizes and various manufacturers I had owned the car for under a month and called the service department to be put on hold. The tires led to premature wearing of the car's suspension system, which I am now having to replace. I asked the manager to replace the tires free of charge and they declined.
Only when I agressively compromised to the service department and actually drove to the dealership, not by phone, did they replace the tires at a discounted price, not free of charge.
The seat belt buckle was also broken when I bought the vehicle and was handled similar to the window tint. Holmes motors agreed to get it fixed upon my purchase of the vehicle but did not fix it.
These people also practice very predatorial car-selling tactics, they explain very little about the purchase while buying the car and just want to get customer's out the door without following through with their side of the deal. I have been to many car-dealing places since then and none have shown this type of careless behavior.

Did you actually SEE the car before you bought it? I mean really. Only a blind person wouldn't have been able to "see" that it had too dark of a tint job and if anyone had bothered to have looked AT the tires they would have seen they were mismatched. I don't know what "agressively compromised" means. I guess the only suggestion I can make is to have a vehicle fully inspected BEFORE you buy it in the future by someone you trust.
