In 1999, my husband and I had to file for bankruptcy. We fully intended to reaffirm our mortgage to HomEq Servicing Corp but because HomEq had only secured the deed to our land and had not secured the title to our mobile home the bankruptcy estate went after the mobile home. HomEq eventually won in court and spent nearly $10,000 doing so.

We were informed in 1999 that we were responsible for the $10,000 court fees in addition to our mortgage. We were told to continue making our monthly payment and the $10,000 would be added to our balance.

In May 2003 we sent our June payment which was sent back to us the first week in June with a letter of intention to forclose. We were told over the phone we had to pay the $10,000 with interest over 30 months plus our mortgage payment or be out within 6 weeks. We made a counter offer which was promptly refused. As a result we had to move out, put our pets to sleep, and uproot our lives. On July 18, 2003 HomEq called to ask when we could make a payment and the forclosure was cancelled.

The person we spoke with was rude and uncaring. Our lives have been changed in such a bad fashion by this cold uncaring company that things will never be the same. We have no house, no land, our pet of 17 years payed the ultimate price.
