HomeQ purchased my loan to "service" it. They have no direct lines or other known departments to service any question customers may have. Regardless of the number listed, every number is routed through the central line. The central ine's only functionality is to collect a payment.
After a dozen or more of these frustrating calls I was finally able to acertain who my "investor" as they call it (like it was some secret they were holding) was. Dutche Bank in New York. When I called the directly I was given a different 800 number to call their Loss Mitigation Department to discuss my situation with someone who could "help me modify my loan". The number turned out to be another bogus way to the HomeQ general collections line.
I thought as long as the American flag files over this land, a person who entered into a contract (mortgage) had a right to contact and discuss said contract with the other party. Apparently HomeQ is doing their level best to deny honest Americans this right.
HomeQ does not "service" loans or mortgages. HomeQ does not intend to, and is unable to provide any "service" to those unfortunate customers they purchased who never had an agreement with HomeQ.
HomeQ is not a lender. HomeQ is not a mortgage company. HomeQ is loan shark's enforcer. Here's how it works: You enter a contract with a legitimate lender, HomeQ buys your loan without the capacity to honor the terms of the contract, and should anything require effort from them, problem solving, or even someone to talk to like you would a legitimate lender, they refuse to respond with anything other than "pay your bill or else."
They have no business in the mortgage industry. All they are is a "bone crusher" for "investor". "Pay up or I'll bust your knee caps..."
My hope is someone of great authority will put a stop to this madness and bring relief to those of us unfortunate enought to have HomeQ darken our doorway.

Homeq did not buy your loan (I was under the same misunderstanding when my loan went to them) your lender transfered the "servicing" of your loan to them.
If you read your loan papers it probably tells you your lender will not service your loan. Your lender pays Homeq monthly to service your loan for them, so what Homeq cannot service your loan in anyway other than what your lender lets them so yes they are the "knee breakers" for your lender.
I have a friend who's loan is also serviced by Homeq her loan was modified per her lenders agreement, another friend cannot be modified per his lenders agreement...talk to your lender about your loan!
