As a former employee (as of 11/18/14), I feel truly sorry for the victims who were duped into buying the garbage that the owner, Dennis J. Saccarato was peddling. I, being a former collector for the company have witnessed firsthand, the con-job that Dennis and his people are doing. From me to whoever that I contacted, I truly apologize. That being said, who runs a business were as they bounce employee paychecks, date paychecks for that Friday only to find out that they cannot be cashed until the following week because the funds aren’t available?. Not only were the victims duped, I was as well, given that the people that work there are on the lowest rung of the ladder (ex-cons, drug addicts, etc.) and that have less intelligence than a box of rocks. In retrospect, as a college educated man, I am truly ashamed to have worked for such a criminal and dubious organization called Horizon Products/Star West labs.

They called again demanding payment before they send it to debt consolidation.  The northern accent of this office clerk scamming bia REALLY made me want to bang my head against the wall.  New Jersey's still allowing these thieves to opperate!?

The company HORIZON PRODUCTS is also the same company as STAR WEST LABS. They have an office in Fairlawn, NJ and an office in Las Vegas, NV. It is owned by a most deceitful, and shrewd businessman named Dennis Saccurato. These companies employ boiler-room style tactics and lies to get their products in the door of your Restaurant, Nursing Home, Hotel, Casino, Hospitals, and anywhere where industrial chemicals are used.

The products are of a no frills quality. Their number 1 product they shove down unsuspecting companies throats, is a degreaser called ENVIROCLEAN.  They usually try to ship off 5-10 gallons on the front end ranging from 234$-469$ + Shipping & Handling. In their pitch they say that it has a 50/1 dilution ratio, but when you open it up and use it , you learn real fast you would be lucky with half that number.

The sales pitch is  all LIES!!! Basically it is the rep trying to pretend hes the regular supplier, and that he is apologizing for not being able to make it in last week to see you and your business due to being stuck in Las Vegas at a trade convention, and that unfortunately tomorrow,  he will be going to another one and wont make it back in town to see you until next month. LIES !!! They are in thier boiler room style office that they work in everyday for 7 hours a day 5 days a week!!! Then they say, "Of course nothing has changed you'll still be the one who is ordering the maintenance and cleaning supplies for the office, right?"

They just want to find out who it is because they really have no idea, and they even employ people to call these businesses ahead of time to ask the employees who is in charge.. Once whoever answers the phone says, "yes", they have the authority to purchase, or that person tells you who is, and they get transferred  to phone, the real fun begins!!

They really try to take advantage of lower level employees and managers, who dont have the authority by promising to give them gifts like fishing rods and reels sets, as well as Sports team hats which are part of a corporate promotion that they had at the trade show in Vegas.  ALL LIES!! The hats are the kind you can buy for 5$ but they try and make the hat sound special link only the players and coaches can get this style and line. The rod and reel sets are even worse, the cheapo kinds for 15$ at Wal-Mart.

They promise to give you your favorite team and even have the audacity to say they supply the stadium with all thier cleaning supplies! MORE LIES!!!  They even promise that they can get tickets to your favorite sports team (they can if you reorder enough, but they are cheap seats paid for by your boss or company!)...

AND....to just call them on thier business cards and let them know,  which they are sending with the Hat, saying and new color catalog.  Then they say when they come out there next month,   they will take you out to lunch!  LIES! LIES! LIES! You will never meet anyone from the company! Not unless you PAY ! PAY! PAY! and request to see someone or you will stop paying.

Next before they hang up, they say "OH BY THE WAY!"...at this point the trap is sprung and you should hang up immediately! They say before they forget , what they will do is send out just a small pail of thier degreaser, and it should be more than enough to tide you over until they come out next month...they make it sound like its the same stuff you use and the price is still the same ...at this point you are reeled in and  want the hat and tickets to the game and the fishing pole, so you say ok, then they put you on the line with thier shipping department, so they can record you or low level employee say "YES!" to the price and its ok to ship. Once its shipped they are hoping to get your company to reorder large amounts, and to entice you and low level employees to go with it, they promise bigger gifts, which they no doubt supply, but you are paying way more for products that are inferior.  And the price of the gifts are built in.

They give people 500$ Wal-Mart gift Cards for ordering  like 9000$ worth of product.  Basically 5% of whatever you spend is given back as a gift, anything within reason that you can dream up that fits within that price range.... The same % they pay to their employees! They basically are trying to add your employees and managers to thier payroll to get what they want, not what your company needs. They call YOU to buy products when THEY need you to buy, not you calling THEM when YOU need to buy them. ALl high pressure sales tactics, lies, and gimmicks to get the job done, and you are left holding the bag and footing the bill.

The business practices to get the product into your business is just as deplorable as the treatment the employees receive. The employees are truly folks who are lower class people. Between 20 employees there was only like 5 of them who owned a car.  NONE OF THEM have a bank account except maybe 2-3 of them. You can see how the owner is more like a plantation owner than an honest to goodness businessman, by the way he treats his employees.  He makes sure to surround himself with people who NEED him in some capacity. Even his accountant/attorney lackey "ALEX" is a yes man. His General Manager TOM CHRISTIAN, is a cut throat yes man who has 2 underlings to over-see each side of the business, HORIZON and STAR WEST each. Since they opened last year the entire office except for thier Secretary, HEATHER TAFT and the GM TOM, are all new employees...They can not keep them around because of payroll checks bouncing and the company lying about deals and commissions to keep the payroll down....

You must constantly dial businesses for 6 hours straight, under the watchful eyes and ears of Dennis Saccurato, thanks to listening devices and cameras all over the office. He is a control freak who micro-manages the office all the way from Fairlawn,NJ thanks to cameras and microphones, which you are only aware of due to a sign by the punch-in clock saying the premises are "monitored".  Also his on site managers are more like over-seer's on a plantation , making the employees stand and pitch and keep yelling for more energy and to "SIZZLE the PROMOTIONAL GIFT!"  The sales force is just as much a victim as the customers. The managers regularly deny breaks to the employees if they do not verify enough shipments that day. Also if you are 1 minute late back from lunch you will be sent home for the day, or even week! Same goes for when you arrive at work! They also have meetings in the morning and after lunch where they regularly insult and disrespect the sales force for not being able to lie more convincingly and get to the person with authority and make them believe they are the chemical suppliers!

The sales force consists of mainly poor single mothers, minorities, parolees, drug addicts,  white trash and the like, who are working for minimum wage, and must reach a quota of 5 new accounts a week to get up to 11 dollars an hour and only 5% of what is shipped off to the businesses. Dennis Saccurato makes minimum just off the front end a 1,000$ a week off each employee after paying them thier hourly and 5%....Do not forget once these people open the account, they will never get any more commission off the repeat business of those accounts...Easily he grows fat, while these people struggle weekly just to make an a*s hair over minmum wage...At  best these people may make anywhere from 250$ -500$ a week. The company here in Las Vegas has also been delinquent on their payroll checks for the last 2 weeks, and no bank or check cashing place in town will cash them, only Casino's who have not caught on yet.

Dennis Saccurato has left poor single mothers with delinquent bank accounts due to insufficient funds in the payroll account, meanwhile he has 3 piece suits and shoes worth more than thier weekly check...I may sound disgruntled, but the truth is I have never seen a man owe so much of his fortune to so few people, and give such little in return in all my years of being in sales.  You can tell he holds nothing but contempt for these front line soldiers! He knows its true and even says so to them in his meetings when he flys into town to spend lavishly! FOr all his money thoughes still just a short fat man with a horshoe skullet of hair, who resembles the PENGUIN form batman! Obviously he spends money on prostitutes or women who dont mind being used, because in reality , no woman could ever be attracted to him for his looks!

The fact remains that the FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION has already shut down all of Dennis Saccurato's previous chemical companies in the last 20-30 years...SPARTA-CHEM, COMPU-KLEEN, and in 1996 he was ordered to cease and desist on his trade practices and in 2008 was again in hot water when federal investigators recieved complaints and again found deceptive sales practices and violations of the 1996 order.  He ended up settling without a court order$355,000 back to businesses he defrauded, because of using deceptive sales tactics...Here is a link to the matter.

The fact remains this is a man who is proud of the fact that he can tip-toe in gray areas of the law, disregard court orders, feels its ok to deceive to sell his products, and is proud of the fact that he came up with this style of chemical sales. He continues to defraud customers daily, because he cannot keep the clientelle his agents ship to, hence they must continue to open new accounts, deceptively everyday...He picks on smaller businesses who cant defend themselves in a court of law adequately, because certain restaurants in the US who are billion-dollar companies he forbids his agents to sell to, out of fear of lawsuits and reprisals that he can not adequately defend himself against! He has even been threatened with legal action if he ever calls DARDEN owned chain Restaurants. They are told to go directly to legal if his companies ever call thier stores...US FOODS ,a chemical supplier to most of the big name fast food chains, and chain restaurants,  is a billion dollar competitor who has enough money and resources to bury him if he ever called thier fast food chain accounts and restaurant chains they deal with. His employees are given a list to not cal them because "they wont pay" but they will send to small mom and pop restaurants they can legally threaten, and win against. He cites that he tapes the would be customer authorizing the shipment and knows the pricing, but fails to record the initial sales representation, due to costs? He fails to do it because its deceptive. not forthright..the shipping verification is done to the letter of the law though. Alot of deals are not done now if an employee says something deceptive, but clearly the pitch is still made upon the assumption of a previous relationship. However his business as of late has been suffering due to him trying to clean it up.  Most of the sales made on the phone that are verified are done so in a way that is always This only shows the moral fiber and character of this man who is nothing short of a bully and has repeatedly shown disdain for the law, only using it and twisting it to his advantage when it suits him..THIS MAN IS A BULLY! He should be locked away in a federal penitentiary!
