Hostgator.com Hostgator Turned off our websites with no warning causes us to lose business. Internet

I have been a customer with hostgator since 2008 and have spent over $6000 on hosting and domains with them.

I come into work this Monday with all of our sites suspended and an email from them explaining how our server went over its CPU usage so they suspended the account.

We have been running the same websites.. simple wordpress sites.. and nothing has even changed on our sites in the last year.

I called in customer support and they act like I am supposed to know what is causes this error and I'm supposed to fix it.. They recommend checking plugins and stuff... guess what.. THE WEBSITES ARE DOWN I CAN'T.

Finally after demanding a supervisor he looked at some log files and said one of our websites was trying to get hacked by a brute force login... so that caused the CPU usage to shoot up.. which caused them to remove EVERY ONE OF OUR SITES.

We probably lost more money on orders than we even spend with hostgator in a year.

This is a stupid policy. You should call a customer first and explain to them there is an issue with their website before just terminating everything. You cause stress on a company and cause them to lose business.

You would think a multi billion dollar webhosting company would have a way to detect hack attempts like this and just ban the IP of the person causing it.
